Tick Tock. Summer is flying by and the count down to the wedding has begun- 62 days! Eep! I cannot believe this is the last Sunday in July. Would you believe the first dress my daughter tried on was the ONE! I found my dress as well, and we ordered the bridesmaid dress. It was a very successful day. The hurricane lamps for centerpieces fell by the way side, when my daughter spotted metal bird cages. Admittedly they are adorable and we bought glass candles to go inside them. Since the wedding is outdoors it will create lighting and gives it as my daughter stated, “a rustic look.” I soooo want to show you pictures of the dress, but it is a secret. I shared mine though. I did add a pic of the birdcage for you. I may add a few Gerber Daisies to them, but haven’t decided. Invitations were mailed to out of town guests and bridal shower invites went out. Ooo and I went all blonde. I am a dirty blonde but lately grey has been taken over. I am still getting used to it. Aaand I added a horrible selfie below since I knew you would ask!  Have a great week and Stay Caffeinated!

Your dress and shoes are lovely and I like your new blonde. 🙂

You got Omens too! It was just too hard to resist. 😀 And it seems everyone is getting Once Perfect. 😀 Enjoy!

Yes that was quite the deal for Omens 🙂 thanks Bea!

    • kimbacaffeinate

thanks Laurel, and all I did was twist my hair into a knot at the back. It is long, almost to my rear..LOL

  2. Camille

Your dress is beautiful! I love the detail on the dress. 🙂 Wishing your daughter a wonderful wedding. I’m going to be maid of honor and secondary sponsor to weddings in December and I haven’t picked out a design for my dresses yet. T__T I’ve got to get to that task soon. I have Katie McGarry’s Take Me On on my kindle for a while now but I haven’t gotten to reading it yet. Soon I think. 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Oh what fun Camille, good luck finding a dress!

  3. Berls

Yay! I’m so glad your daughter was able to find a dress so quickly – it usually is one extreme or the other – I’ll look forward to pictures post wedding. Your dress is lovely and those shoes are great. Rumor has it that blondes have more fun, you’ll have to let us know 😉

I have the goodreads plugin and love it! It’s been acting kind of wonky on me the last couple of days, but I know Ashley will fix it, she’s always awesome with support. Happy wedding planning – time’s flying by 🙂

Yes, yes I do..I am going to read and sip coffee and enjoy the fall weather!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Michelle, the bird cages are cute and add a little whimsical vibe to the tables. Glad you like the dress and would you believe those shoes are very comfortable. I couldn’t usually the prettier they are the more pain your feet are in…LOL

  5. Whitney

Whoops! I did not mean to hit enter! When my brother got married last year it was agony finding something to wear to it, you are so lucky to have found your wedding wear so quickly — and it is beautiful to boot!

I was very happy to find it so soon. A lot of the mother of the bride dresses were dowdy or looked like I wanted to compete with the bride. So I was nervous, this is elegant and still youthful. Thanks Whitney 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes, it feels good to keep checking things off. Next week we taste cakes and finalize flower order. My daughter wants chocolate/strawberry cake and I think it sounds yummy!

  6. Sharon's Book Nook!

Your dress, shoes and hair all look lovely. That’s great that the first dress your daughter tried on was the one. That saved a lot of indecision. I know I tried on several before I found mine and it was tiring. Hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books.

I love the birdcages! Those are adorable, I can see why she switched. I can’t believe this month is already over, this year feels like it’s flying by. So glad your daughter found a dress (and you) when I got married I wore the first dress I picked also, It was instant love….Love the blonde hair!!!

I love the new plugin for goodreads. I had to adjust my reviews a little but it works great!

Have a great week Kim and Happy Reading 🙂

That’s awesome your daughter was able to find a good dress so fast! And those birdcages look great!
And I am so excited you got Omens, I loved it and am eagerly awaiting the release of the second book. The supernatural elements are quite light though and there’s a lot of focus on the mystery, I don’t mind, but I know some people went into the book with wrong expectations and that ruined the book for them.

  14. Jan

Your dress and shoes are so pretty. I love the lace on the dress! So exciting to have picked out the dresses and sent out invitations. I like your blonde hair, too. And I know about the gray showing up–mine has just sort of faded 🙁

It really is a time-saver! I usually spend a little of my weekend adding the weeks reviews to Goodreads and Amazon, it is so nice just to add them to if she could just create an app for that! Or better yet, if Goodreads automatically posted them!

  17. Michelle

I love the detail on your dress and the shoes! And what awesome luck that the first dress she tried on was the one. That is great!

Hope you are having a great weekend Kimba.

And I do love the post to goodreads add on as well, but I have to “post” it twice for my review to show up. the first time, only the little add ons that I put in automatically before or after the review show up the first time I post it.

  19. Rita

So much to comment on! Your hair and dress look gorgeous–you will be a beautiful mother of the bride! I love the birdcage motif, very shabby chic and stylish!

Nice book haul, I loved Phantom Instinct that you read last week and have Omens on my kindle, yet unread.

I love that your daughter is putting a very personal stamp on her big day, and not just having it in a hall with standard tablecloths and centerpieces. Have you checked out the photos of Ashley’s wedding in Italy? Dreamy location! I will have to see about getting her Reviews to Goodreads add-on to save time. Checking it out later, thanks.

Ashley’s wedding looked beautiful and those views!!! Our venue came about due to a short engagement period, but I think it is going to be just as lovely as a hall reception. We have been able to add a lot of personal touches. For example, before they leave at the end we are setting off lanterns (those candle/balloon ones) into the sky.

  20. Lark

Your dress looks gorgeous (love the lace), the shoes are amazing, your hair looks fantastic – you are going to rock this wedding! And the birdcages are adorable!

Great pics!! I’m blonde and I know I have fun. lol Though I’m nowhere near as blonde as I used to be (I stay out of the sun now lol), but since I donate my hair I don’t color it or anything though I’d like to. When it gets too white for donation (5%) then I’ll start coloring it. 🙂 Sounds like you have all the preparations well in hand. Reviews to Goodreads plugin?! NEED!!!
Love the dress! Love the shoes! and love the little birdcage! I went to a wedding yesterday that was rustic country. They made strawberry jam for the favors and had flowers in glass jars hanging from hooks along the aisle. They had a small little cake with two little birds on it and the guests got cupcakes. It was really lovely and I thought they were really creative. 🙂
Oh and love the blonde! I didn’t see it before so I can’t compare, but it looks good! I have more and more gray’s coming in. I’m only 32 but my mom was full gray by 35. I think I’ll be back to dying my hair again soon. 🙁

    • kimbacaffeinate

You can compare the color to my facebook picture for reference. I saw the jam jars too cute. We will have candles in mason jars all over the place to light up the event since it begins at 5 and the sunsets at 7:15. We are also stringing white lights everywhere.

  29. kindlemom1

Absolutely gorgeous dress and shoes and hair for that matter! Blondes do have more fun, I am certain on it! 😉

I love the bird cages too. I agree with your daughter, they will be so pretty all lit up outside at night…very romantic feeling. I think adding daisies would add just a touch more and make them even better, I would do it!
