I very rarely pick up a young adult contemporary, but once in a while a fellow blogger’s comments, or in this case, the voices of many drove me to do so. ALEX, APPROXIMATELY by Jenn Bennett was absolutely delightful! Witty and realistic with friendships and romances that were messy and beautiful. Grab it, whether you are young or young at heart.
Told from the alternating points of view of Alicia, Nate, Lucia, and Bridget, THE BLACKBIRD SEASON by Kate Moretti delivered a mystery that kept me guessing. A scandal, secrets, dead birds and hidden truths rock a small-town and its inhabitants.
Sophia Rose is back with another wonderful book. This time she is sharing A CONSPIRACY IN BELGRAVIA by Sherry Thomas, the second novel in the Lady Sherlock series. This is another series I am curious to try. Grab a cup of tea and enjoy Sophia Rose’s thoughts.
Welcome to Nonna’s Corner! Today I am sharing BRUCE’S BIG MOVE by Ryan T. Higgins whether you are meeting Bruce for the first time or revisiting the series, you are sure to enjoy this cute story about a parent bear who wants a little peace, quiet, and order. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy….
STORM GATHERING by Rebecca Zanetti is the fourth book in the Scorpius Syndrome series, a dystopian romantic suspense following groups of survivors following a global virus that killed most of the population and infected others. Intense with a heavy dose of romance and heat this tale held me captive from beginning to end.
WICKED DEEDS, by Heather Graham, continues historian Vickie Preston and Special Agent Griffin Pryce’s story as they head to Virgina. With some vacation time and a few weeks before Vickie enters Quantatco, they stop in Baltimore to sightsee, but things get complicated.

I received STILLHOUSE LAKE by Rachel Caine from Prime’s Kindle First feature and added the audio for a few dollars. I am really glad that I did as the narration by Emily Sutton-Smith was superb. Caine delivers a psychological thriller that kept me on edge. It is the first novel in the Gwen Proctor series. Addictive with small-town quirks, twists, and suspense.
SAY NO MORE by Lillian Hart is the third novel in the Gravediggers series. Hart gives us a suspenseful case with human trafficking, a kick-ass heroine and a hero who needs to grovel.
I am trying to add more discussions and caffeinated confessions here at Caffeinated. So I decided it would be fun to discuss some of my favorite tropes in romance. Next time I will share tropes that make me run the other way. Grab a cup of your favorite caffeinated beverage. I am enjoying an iced vanilla coffee. Check out my favorites and then tell me some of yours.
