Fall for romance this holiday season.…
All I Want For Christmas- Identical twin boys Zeke and Zach only want one gift from Santa this year: a new wife for their lonely single dad, Mac Taylor, a builder who fixes things up in their small town. But convincing their love-wary dad that their music teacher, Nell Davis, is not only part of Santa's plan, but Mac's soul mate, isn't quite as easy as they'd hoped.…

First Impressions -When Vance Banning moves to rural Maryland, all he wants is peace, quiet and to keep away from women. The last thing he needs is his outspoken—yet infuriatingly sexy—neighbor, Shane Abbott, getting into his business. But he has no idea how determined Shane is when it comes to giving a helping hand—or a loving heart.

Holiday ROMANCE Small-town Sweet

The Christmas Wish by Nora Roberts contains a holiday novella and a full-length romance that take place during the holiday season. Narrated by Patrick Lawlor and Teri Clark Linden these tales are sure to fill you with the holiday spirit.

All I Want for Christmas narrated by Patrick Lawlor shared the story of twins Zeke and Zach, who ask Santa for a Mommy who bakes cookies and will love their Daddy Mac Taylor. If that synopsis doesn’t scream holiday and Hallmark movie, I don’t know what to tell you.

The developing romance was adorable and heartwarming. It was fun seeing the children plot as the adults fumbled. Mac has some baggage to overcome but tender moments, holiday spirit and the antics of these twin boys had me wiping a tear and smiling.

I thought Patrick Lawlor was the perfect narrator to captor both the boys and their gruff Dad. 3.5 cups of hot chocolate

First Impressions narrated by Terri Clark Linden shares the friendship and courtship of Vance Banning and Shane Abbott. The tale takes place in rural Maryland during the holiday season. Shane has moved home to her childhood home, leaving a teaching career to open an antique store. Vance has bought the dilapidated property next door. He is grumpy and keeps to himself. Rumor has it he is fixing the property but is unemployed. Shane needs help with some redesigns and repairs to convert the first floor into her shop. She hires Vance and the tale that unfolds offered tender moments, growing pains and complications from others that kept me listening into the wee hours.

I loved watching their relationship unfold. Roberts did a fantastic job of allowing me to both understand and admire these characters. She also introduced a few characters that you’ll desperately want to smack. We do get a little miscommunication as things are revealed, but I promise it was worth the tension. Roberts gave us some toe curling heat, but she has a way of omitting details while stoking the fire making it one that all will enjoy.

Teri Clark Linden brought the story and characters to life, even her male character. I wouldn’t hesitate to listen to a book she narrates. 4 mocha lattes

The Christmas Wish delivered with heartwarming stories that had me humming Christmas tunes and eager for the season to begin.

I love Nora Roberts and Christmas books. I’m so glad this is on audio. I won’t have to wait until Christmas break to read it. Two in one, awesome!

  2. Darlene

This sounds like a great Christmas book to add to my Holiday Reading TBR! I still have NEVER read a Nora Roberts book!

  3. Laurie

I may have to see if my library has a copy. I haven’t read a straight up Nora Robert’s romance in oh-so-long.

  4. Naomi Hop

Both of these reads sound great! I love how the first one has the kids in it. So sweet wanting a mummy!
And the second one… I love how the grumpy guy finds a girl!

  5. Katherine

I don’t think I’ve read either of these but they both sound so Christmas-y and delightful! I’m sometimes hesitant about these that look like compilations because I’ve had mixed luck with her older stories. I’m definitely adding this to my TBR for my Christmas reading.

Gosh, it is the season! I’ve been listening to BUble a lot too lately, I should maybe partner it up with some cozy romancey holiday read just to get me in the mood… for hot chocolate and lots of eating. Lol

Both sound good to me– First Impressions really would be a good read for me. Of course, Nora Roberts! Her books vary for me, but from good– excellent. Never met a Nora Roberts I didn’t enjoy 🙂 Thanks for sharing, and for hosting the Winter Readathon!

I love Nora Roberts, probably just as much as I love Hallmark Holiday Movies so I’m totally in for this. I have been watching a lot of Hallmark movies lately and I am definitely in the mood for this one. Thanks for the lovely review, Kim!

I said I was only reading one Christmas story this year and I have already done that. But. I do love a lot of Nora Roberts books and the one with the little boys sounds so cute! I will think on it! Thanks!

  10. Heidi

These scream cozy Christmas to me. I am not having the best luck with my Christmas reads yet, so I might have to try something by Nora. She is always a win.

This is not the sort of book I read, but I have heard nothing but wonderful things from Nora Roberts fans. I can remember my mom watching similar films during the holidays on Hallmark. So your review brought back some memories! Lovely 🙂

I just read All I Want for Christmas! It was sooo cute. I’ve been on the hunt got First Impressions, which I think I did read once long long long ago. I looked into the audio on Audible, but the narrator didn’t appeal to me. I think this is a different narrator, though, so I’m going to see if this is on audible.

I haven’t done so well with the Ho Ho Ho RAT. The election really through me and I haven’t read much.

These both sound delightful, Kim! The little boys asking Santa for a Mommy made me smile. And I’m rather a sucker for a romance with a grumpy man…I want to pick him apart and peel back the layers just as much as the heroine. I’m also curious as to why Shane gave up a teaching career to open an antiques store. This sounds like a great use for one of my Audible credits. 😉

This is exactly the kind of book (and movie) that I indulge in over the festive season. It sounds so cheery.

Nora Roberts is one of my mom’s favorite authors! I remember her paperbacks being all over the house as I was growing up. While her romance stuff isn’t usually my cup of tea, I do enjoy her books written as JD Robb.
