Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous - aching need...exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her. Changeling Vaughn D'Angelo can take the form of either man or jaguar, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar's instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith's sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced - and keep her from Vaughn.

SUSPENSE SEXY

I am continuing the Psy-Changeling series with book two Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh. She has created a world with changelings (shifters), humans and Psy who live connected mentally to a hive network. Visions of Heat delivered an action packed paranormal romantic suspense filled with suspense and heat. Singh pulls you into the story and you quickly find yourself immersed in this world.

Coffee Pot Review:

The world Singh has created continues to fascinate me as we learn more about the Psy, Changelings and humans living there. I am very curious about developments we learned. Will there be war? Can these species work together? Can the killers be stopped? So many questions!

In Vision of Heat, Singh delivers another intense murder mystery. I love this dark arc thread. For our romance, we are introduced to F-Psy, Faith and Vaughn a leopard shifter and enforcer for Lucas’s pack. The story was good, and while I did not connect with Faith and Vaughn as much as I did Lucas and Sasha, the story drew me in.

Singh brings intense heat along with the action scenes and suspense. Vaughn is very primal and Faith is stronger than even she suspects. While, I liked how Vaughn believed in Faith and protected her, he left me wanting in the bedroom. His cat is more dominant and I prefer a man who is much more in control of his inner beast. *wink* I did feel their chemistry but this romance did not have the same intensity and spark as the couple in book one. Nevertheless, the world, problems and pack have me diving into Caressed by Ice for my April series read.

Visions of Heat, was a quick, fun read and I look forward to continuing the Psy-Changeling series. There are now 14 full-length novels and oodles of novellas in this series with the last book releasing in June of 2016.

Quotes

“How do you know it’ll be pleasurable?” He got on the bed and lay down.

Breath a whisper, she came closer and tied one wrist to the headboard. The cat growled but didn’t try to make him wrench free.

“Because just looking at you gives me the most extreme pleasure I’ve ever felt.”

“Christ, baby, tie me up before you start talking like that.”

“Human women have been slapping men for being bastards for centuries. You were doing what comes naturally.”

I did an audio binge of this series for books 1-5 (or maybe 6) because I grabbed them through a few audio sales. Then I stopped. I never really liked the Psy and knowing that the next two books were about them I just couldn’t move on. I like the Changeling stories so I thought about maybe one day skipping over the Psy books and reading (yes read because I was not a huge fan of the narrator and the library has the ebooks) Changeling stories.

  2. Dani Chapman

I am so happy to see you reading these books by Nalini Singh. I am a fan of her and have read just about all her books.

  3. Quinn's Book Nook

In general, I’m not super into paranormal romance, but I really loved Rock Hard by Nalini Singh so I’m thinking of looking into this series. I’m so glad that you liked this.

  4. Lorna

I listened to this one if I remember right. I did enjoy it but you are right I liked the couple in the first one a bit better. I am listening to her Rock Addiction (I think that’s what it’s called) and really enjoying those as well.

  5. Stormi

This is yet another series I would like to try but haven’t yet…lol. Great review. 🙂

  6. Lekeisha

This is one series that I’m gonna have to collect all the books and start over. I’ve read the first book, and have book 10- I think, on my shelf. Great review!

  7. Leah

I’ve read all of the books in the Psy/Changling series. What kept me reading was definitely the world building. Caressed by Ice, Branded by Fire, and Play of Passion are my favorites.

  8. Katherine

Whoa that is quite a teaser! I haven’t read any of this series but I have Singh on my TBR (which I’m guessing has something to do with you!) I’ll have to back and get the first book. I like that you’re still enjoying the series so much after all the books and novellas!

  9. Daniela Ark

Since I learned about Changelingsa few years ago I have always been intrigued. for some reason I haven’t been able to get into Singh’s books would I like to try again. You had me at “dark arc thread” 🙂

  10. Bookworm Brandee

*haha* Guess what also found its way into my Audible cart…Slave to Sensation. 😉 Yeah, because I need to start another series like I need a hole in the head. But I couldn’t resist. I’m glad you enjoyed Visions of Heat overall, even if you didn’t feel the same connection to Faith and Vaughn that you did with Lucas and Sasha. Happy Friday, my friend! 😀

  11. Cyn

I like the quotes you shared, sounds like a hot and funny read! I don’t often read books with changelings/shifters but I’m intrigued by the murder mystery aspect. Lovely review, Kim!

I always forget about this series because I haven’t read it but at the bookstore I get asked a lot about what series they should read after they finish one paranormal romance series. JR Ward is usually my top rec just because most enjoy her. And if they are okay with less romance I recommend The Hollows because it’s my favorite. I should make a list. Jeaniene Frost is another good one and I have read her books. Maybe I’ll work on a recommendations list when I work tomorrow… And one day I’ll read these!

  13. Debbie Haupt

You know this is yet another author who I haven’t read and have been meaning to. Hmmm doppelgangers incorporated to the rescue! lol 😉
    Great review thanks for sharing

I did not feel as attached to Faith and Vaughn either. I love the series though. I just finished it and can’t wait to start the next one!

You’re going to have so much fun reading this series Kim! It’s one of my all time favorites:) Hawke and Sienna will forever be my favorite couple, but you have a little while to go before you get to them. So worth the wait though! I want to go back and start over now, it’s been forever since I’ve read the early books:)

  19. Melanie Simmons

I really love this series. It is one that has a great overall story arc, so if a couple isn’t your favorite, the story around them still keeps you engaged. The books also seem to get better and better. I’m really glad to see you enjoying these. I love that I can revisit these through your reviews. 🙂
