Some days, a girl just can't catch a break ... especially when the girl in question is Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting succubus who gets her energy from seducing men. First there's her relationship with gorgeous bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, which is unsatisfying on a number of levels. It's not just that they can't have sex in case Georgina inadvertently kills him (generally a turn-off for most guys). Lately, even spending time together is a challenge. Seth's obsessed with finishing his latest novel, and Georgina's under demonic orders to mentor the new (and surprisingly inept) succubus on the block. Then there are the dreams. Someone, or something, is preying on Georgina at night, draining her energy, and supplying eerie visions of her future. Georgina seeks answers from Dante, a dream interpreter with ties to the underworld, but his flirtatious charm only leaves her more confused-especially as the situation with Seth reaches crisis point. Now Georgina faces a double challenge-rein in her out-of-control love life, and go toe-to-toe with an enemy capable of wreaking serious havoc among mankind. Otherwise, Georgina, and the entire mortal world, may never sleep easy again.

Succubus Dreams by Richelle Mead is the third book in the Georgina Kincaid series. This urban fantasy series features Georgina a succubus and her motley crew of friends ranging from angels to humans. Filled with snark and a topsy-turvy romance each story features a mystery that Georgina finds herself in the middle of making this an exciting series.

I love listening to this series on audio, and Elizabeth Rodgers really captures the witty, snarky, vivacious character that is Georgina. In Succubus Dreams Georgina is given the assignment of helping a new succubus who cannot seem to woo anyone. This was absolutely hilarious and ended with a twisted twist. Georgina is having strange dreams and as soon as she feeds her live force seems to drain all of which leads to this story’s mystery. To top it all off she and Seth are having relationship troubles. Nooo!

The story was intense, but Mead added in her special blend of humor. A thread concerning Georgina’s contract made me oh so curious so I grabbed Succubus Heat the next book in the series with my audible credit. The romance had me thinking- this was the moment they gave in and then curling up in fetus position the next. I love geeky Seth, but he made me angry. Very angry. I cannot wait to see where this series takes us next.

Fans of urban fantasy, snark, and a unique cast of supernatural and human characters will enjoy the Gerogina Kincaid series.

I know Brandi @ Brandi Breathes books has been reading this series and has completely loved all these books. I am so glad to have a second review and see that you have enjoyed this one just as much. I can’t wait to get started on this series myself and see where it takes me 🙂

  2. Nereyda

I looooove this series! I’ve read it, and read it again, and heard them all on audio, and heard them all on audio again, and im listening again next month.
How much did the ending hurt??? Seth…. *sigh* I get it, but I’m still angry at him…
The audio for these books is so good, she is such a great Georgina.

  3. Tanya

This one has been on my list for soooo long. A friend asked for recommendations the other day and said her last read was this series and she loved it. Since I was unfamiliar, it was a bit harder to recommend another series, but her comments made me want to move this one up the list. I love when an author can make their characters snarky and humorous.

  4. Sophia

Richelle tends to have the tendency to make me angry at her male characters. Her female characters, however… I ADORE them. Glad you’re enjoying the series, Kimba! 🙂

  5. Jeann

Ah yes, I think I remember where Seth stone-walled Georgina and things weren’t good. I love this series so much! So glad to hear you’re enjoying it.

  6. Lorna

I finally bought book one in this series recently-maybe because you reviewed another one in this series? I can’t remember. I just need to finally start it. Glad you are enjoying them 🙂

  7. Haniya

I love urban fantasy stories!! And the characters sound so amazing!!! Plus Richelle Mead is a promising author!

  8. Cyn

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Richelle Mead! And this series sounds pretty cool. Glad to hear that the narrator is awesome (: Lovely review, Kim!

  9. Braine

I am keen to start this series, it reminds me so much of this series I follow in Netflix, Lost Girl. Happy weekend Kim!

Hehe…story of our lives. I have this list, and she was on it. Only about 15 more authors to go and a zillion books because they are all series.

  10. Angela

I’ve been avoiding the whole succubus thing because I’ve tried several books that just didn’t work for me but you’ve completely sold me on this book! It really sounds interesting.

I love it when the narrator brings the book to life. I’ve had so many audiobooks that I have DNF’d because of a stale or overly annoying narrator.

I know what you mean..but Georgina is fresh, quirky and has a standard of morals that I think makes her standout from those you find in other books.

  11. Lexxie

I loved this series, too, Kim, and I’m so happy you’re enjoying both the story and the narration 🙂 Mead does have a good way with snark, and Georgina is a quirky heroine to follow.
    Great review 🙂
Have a fantastic Friday and happy reading.

  12. Ramona

I like Richelle Mead (since Vampire Academy, lol) and I’ve always wanted to read Georgina Kincaid series. This is a fantastic review, Kimba! Have a great weekend 🙂

I had no idea Richelle Mead lived in Seattle (where I work). Cool. Thanks for this review. When I saw that it’s on audiobook (my brand new love) I said “dammit!!!” because I just used my credit this month on another book. So I added this one to my wishlist.

Thanks for the review. I really enjoyed the Vampire Academy. It was a series that grew on me and I still need to finish the final book.

My library has this series ! But all the books I had put on hold have arrived at the same time, gotta read them first. I can’t wait to get to it 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Isn’t that always the way. I could be #3 on one book, #15 on another and #110 on the next and all of them will be available at the same time. #realworldlibraryproblems

  15. Jenny

I want to try this series Kim but the romance aspect makes me nervous since she’s a succubus. She has to sleep with other people right? That gives me a nervous tic, I’m all about monogamy in my romances. I can’t help it!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Well see a succubus takes the life force from anyone she sleeps with…so although she is in a relationship with Seth she cannot share her body with him…..

  16. Bookworm Brandee

I’m glad you’re enjoying the series, Kimberly. I loved every book in it. And Seth – he was one of my first book boyfriends…right behind Edward. 😉 I love Mead’s snark and the over-arching plot of this series is good. I hope you enjoy the next installments just as much. Maybe Seth will redeem himself. 😉

  17. Sophia Rose

I like Urban Fantasy and lots of times it is the combo of wry humor and action. Glad the audio narrator has captured that well.

  18. Ria

I’m sooooo scared to go down the audio rabbit hole…I may never come back!!! eeeep! this sound really interesting! Awesome review luv!!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Hahaha..happened to me. I tried them long ago and was not a fan..I mean I can read a book in 3-4 hours why the heck should I listen..but with a smartphone and ear buds I can listen while doing chores, before bed and while exercising. I always have an audiobook I am listening to now. I listen to about 1-2 a week depending on life.

  19. Wattle

I have the first book of this series on my shelf somewhere, but have somehow not read it yet :/ I really should one day!

Great review Kim, thank you for sharing 🙂
