7th Feb

I am very excited to begin a new feature here at Caffeinated called Nonna’s Corner. In January I became a Nonna for the first time. I fully intend to share my love of reading with this precious little girl. Once a month I will feature book reviews for children and hope to weave in age-appropriate books and gadgets as my granddaughter grows. From my house to your house I hope you enjoy these discoveries. Grab a cup of coffee and check out these adorable stories. They are perfect Valentine Books for the Little Ones…

For little girls who love Ladybug Girl and Fancy Nancy, here’s the perfect story to share on any day you’re filled with love! “Today I am Superlove! There will be love, a wedding, and happily ever after.” So begins the day of one young girl who decides to stage a wedding between her stuffed animal, Mr. Mittens, and Pinky—her cat. Pinky is less than thrilled with the idea, even when Superlove dresses up as the flower girl and arranges some practice weddings between her other stuffed animals. Will Superlove get Pinky out of the tree in time to be the blushing bride? Or will she come up with another way to save the day?

Superlove shares one little girl’s plans to hold a wedding between Pinky, her cat and a stuffed dog named, Mr. Mittens. Illustrated by Mark Chambers the book colorfully takes us through the day from pancake love to Pinky’s uncooperative nature. You and your child will laugh as Harper brings it all together with the help of Mommy and Daddy. I love that the book has lots of illustrations and as your child grows you will be able to point out and name objects. Superlove is sure to make your little girl giggle.

she is gorgeous. Congratulations. I have a feature for the same exact thing. I love reading to my grandson. He is 18 months now and he loves it too. Its great to start them young. Its my favorite time of night. Right before his bedtime, he snuggles in my lap with a book of his choice and we read it. Usually about 4 times before he’s done. Good thing the books are short. great post.

I love this new corner. Congratulations on your new granddaughter. Sophia is beautiful
I’m also a first grade teacher, so I’m always on the lookout for new books. Superlove looks prefect for my kids!

Thank you I am delighted you like the feature. Superlove is so cute and I can see the kids laughing

No worries this will only appeal to a specific group which is why I will only do one a month

I love the new feature! I may not have kids (or see them in the not-so-distant future) but I love kids books and I love when people share their love of books with their children. These both sounds really adorable, especially Superlove!

This is a great idea Kimba! One of my favorite memories is of reading to my children. I do all the voices and they loved listening to books, and now reading is a joy to them all.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I did the same with my little ones, and cannot wait to read to Sophia.

The Hug Book! I love it 🙂 This is a great idea; can’t wait to see more of these!

So sweet!! Do you just want to snuggle her all the time? I love the Hugs book. I’ll have to look for that one as a bedtime book. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, she is here now and it’s hard to wait for her to fuss. Don’t want her too spoiled though.

I love your new post feature idea. I give books all the time as part of my baby shower gifts or gifts to the younger grandkids. Reading with young children is one of the most precious occupations there is. 😉
