Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Thanks to Angie @ Pinkindle and her brilly idea to share her #FitReader progress on her Sunday Post I decided to join as well. I spent the past week with a Hellhound named Flu and we didn’t really get along well. Gads there were moments when even coffee didn’t sound appealing! Before you ask, yes I got the Flu shot back in October but that particular hex doesn’t keep this year’s hellhound at bay. I spent the week in pajamas by the fire, since the temps were beyond cold. Our local schools even closed on Weds. Not a terrific reading week, but I did manage to listen to some audios. I hope your week was far better…

FitReaders 2015My goals for this challenge are simple. To move more, eat wiser and improve my overall health. I am tracking my steps and removing temptation from the cupboards. I am going to try only shopping the outside isles, and incorporating more veggies into my husbands diet. I love them and he doesn’t. This week was a total bust.

Oh, I am so envious! I can’t wait to get The Girl on the Train…and I love the look of The Three Sisters.

I also got Trust No One…I think I’m going to love it!

Hope you feel better soon….that flu is not a fun thing to go through….

You got The Girl on the Train!! I can’t wait to see what you think of it. I hope you’re feeling better. I’ve been lucky enough to only have the flu once but it was horrible and I never ever want to do that again. We’re pretty cold here as well and I’m not loving it. Since we rarely get temps below freezing we don’t have nifty things like furnaces or really heavy coats. I think I heard the heat pump crying the other day. Have a great week and stay warm!

Eff the flu. Hope you’re feeling better.

Whee … Maybe Not! I love Warren and … Bree(?). I forgot her name. lol.

Make the hubs a fruity smoothie mixed with baby spinach. He’ll never taste the veggies.

I still have a nasty cold as a parting gift, and feel like poo the fever is gone and on road to recovery. I am excited about Trust No One

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Sharon, yep my week was hosed, but I am slowly recovering. Have a good one!

  4. Greg

Hope you feel better Kimba. There’s a lot of stuff going around, and it’s not fun. Stay warm and have a better week. Hope Girl On The Train is good, it looks like a good one.

Sorry you have been sick! I heard that the strain they vaccinated for this year is not the same one that is going around sadly so many people are getting sick that got the shot. 🙁 Glad you are feeling better! It looks like my little one may be getting it as well. 103 fever today. 🙁

I’m so sorry you’ve been so sick! I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting old or because I have four kids depending on me, but I can’t handle the flu or being really sick. It about kills me. Hopefully this week will be much better for you!!

The Walled City is on my list to read. I meant to read it last month and never got to it. I’m curious to see where you lay in all the conflicting reviews. 🙂 Firefight and The Conspiracy of Us are also both high on my tbr. I hope we both love them! 🙂

LOL…it about kills me too. I lost an entire week. I share Walled City on Thursday. I am almost done Firefight and enjoying it. Have a great week Tressa

I am sorry you were sick, especially in the middle of this sub zero weather! I will have to come back and check out your review of Golden Son. I have both GS and Red Rising from Netgalley and will be getting to them this spring. Right now I am reading Compulsion because I want to be on the street team. Martina Boone is such a sweetheart, but won’t do any sort of promo for a book unless I have read it. It is good so far, thank goodness because I hate getting chummy with an author I haven’t read, via Twitter, and then not like their book (yes, this has happened). I will also be looking forward to your review of The Walled City, I also have that from Netgalley. I am glad that Kindle downloads don’t disappear when the ARC archives. I hope you feel 100% snip, snap!

I have read all of her books under Mira Grant, and this is supposed to be in the same style. Heck yes to Never,Never.

  8. Lexxie

I hope you are feeling a lot better now, Kim! Having the flu really, really sucks – especially since you had the shot and probably thought you’d be safe this year.
You got some really amazing books added to your shelves this week, and I hope you’ll get the time to read them and enjoy them soon.
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Lexxie, I am left with a miserable head cold and cough, but feeling better.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thank you, I don’t recommend spending any time with Flu. Glad you are feeling better 🙂

  9. Celine

Ah, how annoying that it was a different flu than the one you got a shot for. Hope you’re feeling better now. Discount Armageddon sounds great, I hope you enjoy it (:

I hope you’re feeling better, Kimba. I got the flu shot, too,…frustrating it isn’t working so well.

You got some great sounding books this week. I have Trust No One and Golden Son on reserve at my library. And I hope you feel more like working on your goals for FitReader. Have a great week!

The flu shot people totally failed this year. Boo for you! I keep seeing #fitreaders around. I’m intrigued. I got a fitbit flex for Christmas and love it. Helps keep me accountable.

I wonder what he doesn’t like. I know a produce guy who says when he was growing up his mother cooked everything too much. He likes things less mushy. My husband just wasn’t familiar with a lot of veggies I grew up with like zucchini and eggplant. Once he got used to them he was happy to eat them.

I’m sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well. I was sick a couple of weeks ago, too, and haven’t felt quite like myself since. Mine was bronchitis with a fever. I hope you are feeling better soon.

The Jayne Ann Krentz book looks good. I’ve been seeing hers around the blogs lately. It’s been years since I’ve read one of her books but I’ve always loved them.

    Have a great week!

I agree Katie, while I still feel awful with the lingering head cold I am grateful to have survived the week.

  13. Catherine

Sorry to hear you were bit by the dreaded bug. Hope you’re feeling much better now. You’ve got two books from my wish list: The Girl on the Train and Trust Noone. Enjoy them and all your others…and good luck with the fitness challenge.

So sorry you aren’t feeling good! That dang flu bug is a jerk this year and has been hitting so many people. I hope you are feeling better now. Relaxing by the fire seems like a great cure for that nasty bug.

Good Luck with the Fitreader but it’s to cold outside to really go for a walk or a run so I have been just trying to eat a little better than may join you all in the spring when I can exercise as well 🙂

Enjoy all your new reads Kim! Rest well and feel better soon! (((hugs)))

Oh my. I do hope you feel better this week. We didn’t have any closings, but we had lots of delays last week. I kind of like the idea for the fit section. I’m always saying in my Sunday Posts that I need to get exercising and that I’ve started, but not much more of an update from that. Maybe if I share about it I’ll keep going.

I’m hoping this is my returning post, even if part time at the blogging. I miss doing it but life has been so busy. Oh well.

    Do hope you feel better!

    • kimbacaffeinate

By all means add a fitness section, this is one of the things I love about the Sunday Post we can tweak and share almost everything.

  16. Trish

Love that ecard–there are definitely a handful of characters that I continually talk about as if they were real. Ahem Jamie Fraser. Happy Sunday!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Colds are awful too, and the flu left me with one..hopefully we both recover this week. I am excited about both books

  17. Mandy

Even with the flu it looks like you had a good week. Lots of lovely new books to add to your shelves. I hope you start feeling better we’ve all had a form of some cold at my house the last few weeks. Looking forward to the Arc sweep challenge. Thank you so much for hosting. Speedy recovery. Have a great week. Happy reading.

Oh no! I’m sorry you’ve been sick, that really stinks!

I had thought of doing the FitReaders but I’m afraid if I sign up I’ll totally fall off the train. I guess I should try it and see if it’s motivating because I’d be sharing things and want something good to share.

  19. Berls

Oh everyone’s been sick with the Flu lately- I’m knocking wood that it skips me just this once! I hope you’re feeling much better now! Good luck with you fitness goals – My fitbit really keeps me moving and this year I’ve added a goal to track everything I eat. They say tracking will help you eat less, so we’ll see how that goes. Enjoy all your new reads, lots of great ones!

I am really looking forward to reading The Girl on the Train as well! I just heard about it on another blog but I was instantly intrigued. There are just so many books that are publishing this year that I can’t wait to read 🙂 It looks like you have lots of great books ahead of you. Enjoy!

So sorry to hear you were sick!!! I had a nasty cold last weekend and so spent most of last week just taking it easy so that it would totally go away. I’m so glad to hear you joined #FitReaders!!! I’ve been part of that group for over a year now (it used to be called Book Blog Walkers). It’s a great group and really motivates you to keep active and healthy!
