The third and final step to revenge in the fifth avenue trilogy. Alex has the power… TEN YEARS AGO ONE DEVASTATING NIGHT CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR AUSTIN, HUNTER AND ALEX. NOW THEY MUST EACH PLAY THEIR PART IN THE REVENGE AGAINST THE ONE MAN WHO RUINED IT ALL. With ruthless determination, Alex Diaz has risen up from his deprived roots to become the head of a global media empire. But he has one last thing to achieve…avenge his friend by destroying the man responsible for her death, Jason Treffen. With stunning talk-show host Chelsea Maxwell about to interview Treffen live on TV, this is Alex’s chance. He’ll use her show to exact a very public revenge—and seducing Chelsea, if needed, would certainly be no hardship. But he underestimates Chelsea and the attraction between them, and as their relationship deepens, Alex realizes that to annihilate Treffen could also shatter the life that Chelsea has built to protect herself…

Expose Me is the final book in the Fifth Avenue Trilogy written by Kate Hewitt. I was anxiously awaiting this final book and was delighted to discover it to be a personal favorite. Revenge, heat and a couple who sizzled made Expose Me an easy, fun read.

The Fifth Avenue Trilogy has taken us through the steps of seeking revenge for a lost friend and executed by three friends. In each book, one of them meets a woman and together they knock our villain down a peg. Expose Me centers around Alex Diaz, who has made his money building a media empire that focuses on the facts. In order to initiate the final step in revenge against Jason Treffen, he seeks help from talk-show host Chelsea Maxwell. His plans stumbles when he finds himself wanting more than just a tumble with her and Jason’s downfall.

Expose Me, like the rest of the Fifth Avenue trilogy focuses more on the romance than the revenge. While I enjoyed the story, I once again found myself wishing for more balance between the two stories threads. While the author tied things up nicely, this is one instance where I would have liked a wrap-up or epilogue. Of the three novels Expose Me was my favorite because of Chelsea and Alex. Both are remarkable characters and their chemistry felt genuine. I loved their banter, and the chess game these two powerhouses played as they tried to manhandle each other. What made them click for me was how Hewitt exposed their soft underbellies and made them vulnerable.

The Fifth Avenue Trilogy was a unique concept, and I would personally recommend reading them back to back. I think it enhances the experience and flow. Expose Me was fun and sexy read.

It is great to see that you enjoyed this final installment in the series. I think balance between the two story lines is important, so it’s a shame you didn’t feel you had that. Great review Kimberly.

Thanks Naomi, some how I missed your comment. Ah well better later than never

  2. Red Iza

I didn’t think they would be for me but since you call them “fun and sexy”, I’m on it ! 😉

    • kimbacaffeinate

These aren’t all vanilla either, although tame in comparison to others.

  3. Sharlene Wegner

I plan on reading them back to back. Thanks for the review!

  4. Katherine

This series is on my wishlist since you’ve enjoyed them so much and I’m glad to hear that the final book was strong. So often in a series the last book is just okay. I’ll definitely be picking up this series soon!

  5. Mary

Now that the last one’s out, it definitely sounds binge-worthy. I do like romances with some revenge but I like the stories where the character starts out all gung-ho but discovers a good life is the best revenge (along with a little takedown and just desserts!).

    • kimbacaffeinate

They all do learn valuable lessons, and when you learn why and for who they want the revenge you will grab your hammer and join them!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I agree and felt the concept was unique one. Have a great weekend Angela!

  6. Michele

Oooo, I like a little vengeance in my steamy romance! lol This series sounds great — very happy the final book delighted you so! Have a great weekend, my friend <3

    • kimbacaffeinate

You are a naughty one and this was a fun series Michele. Have an amazing weekend 🙂

  7. Lauren

It’s a shame there isn’t more balance between the romance and the revenge in these books, but nevertheless, your reviews have me so curious to read this series! Glad you enjoyed them!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Agreed Lauren, but I had fun reading them and loved the whole concept.

  8. Melissa (Books and Things)

I’m not usually one to go for revenge kind of books, but since it focuses more on the romance, I do think I would enjoy this one. I do think I would like this whole series.

    • kimbacaffeinate

It depends on the revenge and why..but yes this is heavier on the romance, and was fun.

  9. Heidi

I am glad you liked the series overall, but I just don’t think they are for me. Have a wonderful weekend, Kim!

  10. Dre

When I am in the mood for some contemporary romances, I will definitely check this out. I like the romance where the chemistry felt genuine, and there’s more to them than just their love, but they exchange witty banters, too. 😉

So glad this was a great series for you overall Kim. I do have to say, you have an amazing ability to pick books with outstanding covers. 😛

  12. Andrea

Scandalize Me was my favorite in the series, but I liked this installment too. I never really got way into the series as a whole, but it was a very cool idea.
    Nice review!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yeah, my ratings all fell between 3 and 3.5 on them. I loved the concept, but wanted more balance between the romance and revenge plot.

  13. Nick

I’m glad to hear this was a personal favorite. This definitely sounds like my kind of read, so I need to look into this series.
    Lovely review, Kim! 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

It was fun and light with a dash of revenge and perfect for summer Nick

There’s nothing I love more than reading a rewarding trilogy back-to-back. I’m glad that this finale was everything that you hoped it would be. And, Chelsea is a GREAT name (it’s also my middle one. Hehe)! Happy Friday, Kimberly. 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Chelsea is my first born child’s name. Chelsea Vivian. 🙂

I loved this series. I did a video review of the series and I’m writing my full review. I found that I do love Alex and Chelsea, their banter the push and pull, and their brokenness made this one extremely relatable. And you’re right, I wanted an epilogue, one that showed them in victory, but real life doesn’t come with a lovely wrap up.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who felt an epilogue would have been appreciated. Looking forward to your vlog!

  16. Jenea

Reading books back to back is a fantastic way and it does help the experience for me too. This sounds like such a good series and I am happy that you enjoyed it.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Jenea, these were clever and I was glad it ended strong.

  17. Melliane

Oh a last book! I’m glad it was a good one! I’m always so anxious with last books but it sounds well done mainly with such a concept. I lov different stories. Great review!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Melliane, I liked how the three books tied together 🙂

  18. Wendy Darling

I remember how much you liked the previous books in this series! I’ve read a lot of Kate Hewitt books in the past, so I’d definitely like to read this at some point. I’m glad to hear this one’s good!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Wendy I enjoyed them and though the concept was clever.
