He can fix her sink, but can he wrench his way into her heart? Flynn McCauley never thought he’d be so cliché as to fall for the girl next door. But when Maddie calls him over to help fix her faulty sink, he’s a goner. Too bad the fiercely independent interior designer wants nothing to do with him. Even worse, he’s forced to rely on the advice of his nosy brothers—and his five-year-old nephew!—to figure out how to make her give him a shot.

The Troublemaker Next Door is the first in the McCauley Brothers series by Marie Harte. The tale offers the story of three girlfriends living next door to one of the brothers and his son. The Flynn’s are a close-knit group of brothers, and all prove to be swoon-worthy. This tale focuses on Flynn. He is the smexy plumber in this blue-collar family, and you are sure to swoon over this sweet guy.

Coffee Dates with the Troublemaker Next Door

First Date: We meet the McCauley brothers, and it was fun seeing boys being boys. They are close knit, tease each other relentlessly but you know that they have each other’s back. We meet the girls next door. They are successful, independent and close friends. Maddie is having one hell of a day. She dumped her boyfriend, and her boss asked for favors in return for a promotion she deserves on merit alone. She quit her job and comes home to vent to her friend. She does not know that sexy plumber- Flynn is fixing the kitchen sink, and when she sees Mr. sexy, she unleashes her venom for the male species on him. Right away, I am intrigued and curious to see what develops.

Second date: Maddie apologizes and the chemistry between these two is electric. We quickly learn Maddie has some issues in addition to her current unemployment. The two begin to tango, and things get hot from sexy moments in closets to phone sex. While Harte keeps thing’s vanilla, we do get the deets and some seriously hot sexy time. Flynn wants more, but Maddie wants friends with benefits. Or does she really? The romance is hawt and who knew a plumber could be sweet and sexy. We meet the other brothers and their family. I am losing my heart to them. Already I want their stories too. Brody’s son will melt your heart, but the things his uncles teach him. Tsk, tsk. *evil grins* Maddie’s friends are strong, confident and support her without enabling her. I am curious about them and mentally tried  to pair them up with the boys next door.

Third date: Ah, I am in love with Flynn! He is so patient, romantic and sweet. He is trying to make their relationship into something more, but ooh Maddie might just muck it all up. I need some chocolate as I watch this all unfold. I need my HEA. Can Maddie figure things out before it is too late? Will their friends and family help or create more drama? Somebody slap some sense into Maddie before it is too late!

The Troublemaker Next Door was a fun, sexy read, and I loved the McCauley brothers. Brody’s tale is next, and Harte has me excited to see how it all turns out. Harte blends sexy, family and small-town feel into this heated adult romance.

Great review, I need to get this one 🙂 Last year, I read her “Wicked Warrens” series, about brothers too, and loved it ! She can write sexy and endearing characters and makes you feel at home when you read about their family life.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Ooo this was my first and I need to check out Wicked Warrens.

  2. Michelle

The five-year-old nephew part really caught my attention! Somehow I like books with little kids in it. They make good addition to the books! Glad you enjoyed this. Now I’m going to get this book. Shall see if my bookstore has one. Thanks for sharing!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Ooo it was a hoot Michelle, just imagine what a bunch of uncles would teach a little guy like that..hilarious!

  3. Jessica

Gah, I love it when it’s the MAN that wants more, and it’s the female who is reluctant. AND more brothers. This series sounds great too, and my TBR list is looking scary. Just sayin’ 😉

    • kimbacaffeinate

Flynn wasn’t perfect but he was sweet, and patient

  4. Melliane

AAAh I want to discover Flynn! It sounds like a new great brother series that’s nice, mainly when I didn’t know this one. Poor Maddy, it seems like she had a really difficult day at first. Great review!

Despite my gripping to you on FB, I ended up liking this a lot. My review goes up … tonight, I think. I’m pretty sure I scheduled it. Maybe I should double check ….

I am glad Christy. While Flynn wasn’t perfect, I enjoyed this. I am hoping Brody is just all talk with his brothers.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes, beach, pool or rain storm..perfect 🙂

  7. Katherine

This sounds like another good one! I definitely like the sound of Flynn. I like the kind of tension because it’s something that actually happens versus people just acting like idiots!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I agree, and love that it had me flipping the pages

    • kimbacaffeinate

nothing wrong with a man who is good with his hands *winks*

  8. Giselle

Oh this sounds like a yummy read and Flynn sounds like the perfect kind of love interest. I’m not really into the jerks-your-supposed-to-swoon-over trope >.< Great review, hun!

      LOL 2 Dove bites. Strawberry/Chocolate swirls..yummy!

  9. Candace

More brothers! lol. I like the whole ‘next door’ trope and like when they have that closeness. I mean, where they kind of always know what’s going on. Not sure if that makes sense… Anyway, sounds good!

  10. Jenea

A sexy plumber and a small town setting, sounds good me. 🙂 Glad you enjoy it.

I’m already pretty in love with Flynn, I have to admit. I feel like I’m going to want to shake Maddie throughout for messing things up with him, but like you, as long as I get my HEA I’m usually a happy girl. Fabulous review Kim!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Agreed, as long as we see growth and get our happy I am good 🙂

  14. Andrea

Oh gosh, I adored this book! It was so funny, with the guys being such…men, and “teaching” their nephew all the tricks. Loved the romance too. I got book two in the mail yesterday and did a happy dance. Great review!
