Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

This week was crazy, busy! On Monday I fell in my driveway and tore my knee up. Yes, I have a huge scab and look like a ten year old..Tuesday we painted our master bedroom and Thursday our new furniture arrived. We moved our old stuff into our oldest daughter’s empty room and now have an extra room for out of town guests. The wedding invitations were ordered and the date set. September 27th. All of this has put me a day behind in commenting! Then there must have been some paranormal woo-woo with Friday’s review post. I cannot reply to comments. Although it accepts comments. I spent hours trying to fix it, and finally threw in the towel. Saturday things were back to normal. Gremlins or Voodoo? You decide. The week ahead is a busy one, and I plan to stay caffeinated. I hope you do the same! I have some great posts this week including the Summer Essential Kit Giveaway and Recipe and a Book Recommendation.

I have been checking out your instagram pictures. I love home improvement projects.. I think it’s fun and when it’s done it feels so good. I also think weddings are fun so I hope you enjoy every moment of that too!

Yikes, sounds painful! Your world seems busy at the moment, keep the caffeine flowing! And Memory of Water certainly sounds different, but in a good way…

Yes it is busy, but busy is good. I enjoyed Memory of Water Greg.

Wow, what a week Kimba! That wedding is coming up quick – not a lot of time to plan, guess you’re going to be very busy this summer! And I’m sorry about the fall – I do these things all the time 🙁

I’m very interested to see what you think about Deadly Curiosities, I’m reading it right now. I should be done by time you post your review – want to have mine all written before I read other reviews…

    Have a great week!

Falling isn’t something I typically do and I hope to not repeat it. 🙂 DC was good, hope you enjoy it. My review posts on Thursday.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yes you can be my drinking buddy for the wedding. Yeah I am rethinking this whole bubble idea.

  5. Michelle

I saw the pictures of your room makeovers and they look great! I hope you knee is feeling better! No Voodoo there, just WordPress lol. It tends to freak out a few times every year for no reason, or at least it does on the free version. i hope you have a lovely week and I hope you get to rest some!

I haven’t had WP do this and I have the paid version..who knows but I am glad the issue appears to be gone.

  6. kara-karina

K., take it easy, my dear girl. All this rushing around will do you no good. Have a seat, drink some coffee, read a book *wink* Love your bedroom posts on FB and woo-hoo for setting a wedding date, – so exciting! Looking forward to next week’s posts, and sending you huge hugs x

Oh, I have had falls like that….they seem to come out of nowhere! Sounds like things are shaping up around your house. Enjoy!

Hope you enjoy your new books.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am looking forward to Tristan’s story as well. Thanks Cyn and I hope your week is delightful!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Ha, do you know Naomi I never even thought about it being a Friday the 13th thing!

  8. Peggy

I’m the most clumsiest person and forever fall or bump into things – glad your knee is not too bad. Busy busy summer ahead for you with the wedding preparations, end of September should be hopefully good weather , well it would be nice fall weather here in the UK, and usually September is here still quite warm but not too hot and rainy.
Have a great week and Happy Reading.

The temps for the last 4 years on September 27th range from 74 to 91. I will take something in the middle there and sun, no rain!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Jeann. Knees ouchies are the worst. Have a wonderful week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Maybe. I would just blog the books I read. I do think people would take less chances on new authors/series.

  9. Vilia

I thought my week was busy but you win. I get so excited whenever I plan a room reno that my get up and go, gets up and goes before I actually get to finish the room 🙂

The trick Vila is to have a ridiculous deadline. We bought furniture on Sat. Decided to paint Sunday and had to get it all done before Thursday delivery. I will say besides a bowling date with our children Friday, we have been a tad lazy this weekend, as things hurt in odd places..LOL

  10. Kristin T.

Hope your knee is feeling better! I am still dealing with the aftereffects of my fall 2 weeks ago when I landed on my tailbone.

I still need to read The Way You Look Tonight – I just love the Sullivan series! I just read her newest book, Kiss Me Like This, which is the first in her New Adult series, The Morrisons. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading that series, too!

    Have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

hehehe…I think red bull has the same caffeine as 2 cups of coffee and I got that covered! LOL

  11. Michelle

Ouch! Sorry about that fall! I hope your knee is feeling better.
I saw the pictures of the bedroom on Instagram. The bed is gorgeous, can’t wait to see it done with the bedding.

Ooooh a wedding I love weddings congrats to your daughter on her upcoming wedding! They are fun to plan but that’s because I’m a crazy person and think all the planning and organizing is fun. 🙂

Hope this week is a better one with no gremlins or voodoo curses!

Yes I painted with it and moved furniture, thankfully I had my hubby and son to help too. I painted baseboards and around windows and doors. I laid on my side to do it.

  14. Jan

I’m sorry you fell down…I’m glad it’s just a skinned knee. Wow–Sep 27 isn’t too far away. You’re going to be very busy I think, but how exciting! And I think it was gremlins on Friday the 13th (with a full moon, too)!

  15. A Voracious Reader

I’m going to blame Friday the 13th-ness for the weirdness. And maybe solar flares. lol I hope your knee is feeling better. At least you got the painting done. I hate painting and I have 4 more rooms to go. Ugh. Have a wonderful week! 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL, well rest. I remember one time I had so many bruises on my arm from moving a woman thought my husband was hurting me and offered help. I was all What? Wait? What?

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Sandy, it was a lot of work, but I am loving the new furniture. 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Grace. Yes I shall be busy, busy, busy but it will be fun 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Yippee! Was it the Sullivans or her new adult novel? I am hoping to read those after I complete the Sullivans.

    • kimbacaffeinate

It is so funny every one mentioned the 13th and it never even crossed my mind while I was dealing with it..LOL

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am really hoping it doesn’t scar. It’s a pain for healing since you constantly bend. Yes redecorating makes me smile too!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I have to remember to do that. I am a planner and organizer so it will all work smoothly. Thanks Angela!

  16. Kristin

Why did you even bother trying to fix the Friday post?? It was a full moon AND the 13th!!!! I would’ve just poured another decaf!!! 🙂

I’m soooo sorry about your knee! What a pain in the butt that must be, especially with shorts… UGH!!! Hey, btw, how are your lungs :D?????? Are you 100% yet???

    • kimbacaffeinate

The 13th seems to be the consensus..LOL Hope your week is amazing Kristin 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

so true Lauren, with the wedding the last thing I need is a broken anything..LOL

  17. Kathy

Ouch, I hope your knee is ok! You had a busy week! Painting is a lot of work. Our bedroom is the only room not painted. We’ve lived here for 14 years and I keep putting it off (too much furniture to move lol). I hope you get some relax time this week! I have a couple of Bella Andre books so I hope you enjoyed this one!

It’s a lovely month for a wedding and it will be outdoors. Thanks Tonyalee.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I agree the sweat and aches are worth it once all is said and done. Thanks Alma!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Ah thanks Michelle, the knee is annoying but only a minor blip in my week 🙂

  18. Rita

Busy week for you, but planning the wedding must be fun and chaotic for your family! And yes, you had gremlins here… (remember don’t feed them after midnight)! Enjoy the week reading.

So sorry about your knee! I’m always paranoid about doing that. I love Sabrina Jeffries so I’ll definitely be looking for that review. Looks like you’ve got some great reviews coming up! Yay about having a guest room! A room makeover sounds fun and completely worth it. Have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL, unless it is a must have I am on a mini book ban..my tbr pile is about to burst!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I agree, I think it would limit experiencing new authors and genres. I have definitely extended my comfort zone and found new authors through arcs.

  20. Candace

Sorry about your knee, OUCH! Yay about new furniture! It looks like a great week is planned!

I’m behind on commenting now too. I spent almost all day gardening yesterday and didn’t get on the computer except to approve triberr posts. My garden is looking great though! Well, one of them…

Glad you garden is looking great, I love working in the yard. I am finding it difficult to comment on Saturdays during the summer and in fact will not be posting on Saturdays in July and August since peeps are busy outdoors.

    • kimbacaffeinate

You may be right Chene, but sadly I spent way to many hours trying to fix it..LOL

    • kimbacaffeinate

Warning..once you do one room you suddenly need/want to do others!

  21. April

Geez Kimberly you have the worst luck! I hope your knee gets better soon and yaya on the new bedroom furniture and paint! I bet that feels awesome and refreshing, just in time for summer. I can’t BELIEVE how fast June has gone either.. or this whole year in fact, like holyyyyyy cow?!

    Hope you enjoy your books!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Stephanie, it was a mixed bag of nuts last week but I am looking forward to the week ahead and wedding plans are going well.

  22. Alise

    Thanks for linking up!
Sorry to hear about your knee! Stuff like that happens to me all the time, so silly. Usually when something big is coming up, too. Like before my cousin’s wedding I decided it was a good idea to go ice skating with my limited athletic ability and have so many bruises in the pictures.

Yes, busy, busy, busy but it’s all good and I know that somehow it will all get done 🙂 No more falling though..that sucked.

  24. Ginny

Owww…your knee. I can sympathize and empathize since I very rarely have a day with no new mishaps. I’m kinda klutzy. 😉 I hope your ouchie heals fast and yeah for all the redecorating. That is another one of my passions. I have been itching to paint my bedroom. I bought new bedding weekend before last so I’m slowly easing hubby into the idea. I hope you have a great week and take care!

  25. Teddyree

Crazy busy week. I sympathise with your banged up knee, I’m pretty unco so I’ve usually got bruises or scabs somewhere lol. I get the occasional, random editing glitch in blogger, drives me insane, waste hours trying to rectify it, fail and the next day its fixed itself haha. Strawberry Romaine salad sounds yum … I’ll be back 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!!

I tend to get random bruises but until now have been like a cat with the falls, I am able to right myself unscathed. The salad is wonderful and yes I need to just let website issue go for a day..but alas I am anal and must try to fix.

  26. Fiza

You’ve been busy too, lucky for you, you only have to catch up to a day’s worth of commenting 😉 Sorry about the knee, though. How is it now, still hurting?

    • kimbacaffeinate

Hello Fiza, It is taking time to heal since the cut and scrapping was deep. Eeew! I know. 🙂 but I am confident it will b good before the wedding 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

You said it Michelle, but it looks a lot better this week. I have to keep it wrapped.
