Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Well I only managed to read 16 books in April (one was an audio). Between my Mom and the new blog design and an up tick in comments I wasn’t able to read as much. I am going to plan some down time for myself this month..just to read and relax. I think unplugging will revitalize me. The Clean Sweep ARC challenge is in full swing and I plan to kick some ARC. How about you? Have a lovely week 🙂

Some down time will be good, you deserve it. I’ll be starting The Here and Now soon, I’m looking forward to it. Have a great week!

Thanks Bea, I hope to get to that next soon myself. Hope you have a great week!

  2. Berls

Down time sounds like a good plan – we all need it from time to time. Although 16 books is a good reading month for me! I’m reading my first ARC pick now, but it’s a bit slower going than I’d like. Hopefully I’ll kick some ARC too this month!! Have a great week Kimba!!

The problem is Berls..I suck at it. Even when I say I am going to take a Sunday off or we go away for 3 day weekend..i still get on and visit, share, reply, explore..LOL. I took off Weds and didn’t reply to comments but then ended up visiting all blogs on Thurs, plus regular visits for Thurs. I need to do it though so I don’t burn out. I am thinking 3 days no laptop. eep.

      • Berls

No laptop! Eek! I would freak out, but you NEED a break sometimes. Have you tried freedom software? That might work without completely taking away your laptop.

  3. Michelle

Unplugging sounds like a great idea. I’m so behind on reading and my blog is sort of taking the brunt of the neglect…I hope this month is better for you Kimba!

thanks Michelle, now I just need to follow through..lol

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL, I have been having fun with using arc in catch phrases for the Clean Sweep Arc Challenge..Got ARCs? Kick Arcs Take the ARCs by the horns..you get the picture:) Thank Greg and have a good week yourself!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Sharon and my Mom is doing better, they are still tweaking her meds and she tires easily. Now I just need to plan this down time..LOL

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Laurel that one sounds good and I will be reviewing it for early June

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thank you Naomi and I hope too 🙂 Hope your week rocks!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Glad you like it Roberts 🙂 thanks and have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

Thanks Cyn, I just need to pick a few days 🙂 Thanks and enjoy yours!

  4. Peggy

I’ve just come back after 1.5 weeks away from the Internet and wow, there is your new blog design – I love it! 16 books would be a lot for me – I usually do about 10 or so. And sometimes you just need so time away – that’s exactly what I had, didn’t even open the Internet for about 1 week or so on holiday (well, actually, my hubby had his laptop with him and I tried once and couldn’t get on with his laptop (I’ve got a Mac and he hasn’t!), so I gave up very quickly.
Have a great week and Happy Reading.

The Weird Sister’s series is awesome Jennifer.

  5. Fiza

Read and Relax, sounds like a dream 😉 Just put the rest of the world on pause and get lost in a book *sigh*

Love this meme, I signed myself up if you don’t mind 😉

    • kimbacaffeinate

I got that as a surprise, and I am curious too since it is an unreliable narrator. Thanks Melanie!

    • kimbacaffeinate

hehe..thanks Sophia and good luck kicking those exams!

  6. finley jayne

I’m looking forward to some much needed down time myself, after getting through the A-Z Challenge 🙂 April was a bit of a blur, hoping May is a bit calmer!

You can do it Yvonne! I am determined to unplug for a few days, thanks and have a great week!

    • kimbacaffeinate

My thoughts exactly Angela *sips coffee*

    • kimbacaffeinate

My review posts on Thursday Glass. Have a wonderful week!

  7. Vilia

I only managed 15 books so 16 is nothing to be sneezed at 🙂 I’ve got my eye on the new Aguirre book too – if Silver Mirrors is half as good as Bronze Gods, I’ll be very happy indeed.
Vilia recently posted…Sunday Post #22My Profile

    • kimbacaffeinate

Ooo me too, but I probably won’t touch it till June since May is all about the ARCs. LOL I usually read 22-30 so it was sad for me:)

  8. Lark

Sounds like you need some downtime, Kimba, but 16 books is pretty good! (I know; you usually read more than that. Hey, you had a lot on your plate!) As for the ARC Challenge, I’m sure you have plenty to keep you going for the month, and more coming in each week. Take some time for yourself, my friend, and recharge your spirit. You deserve it!

P.S. I need to read Bronze Gods. It’s been sitting on my TBR shelf for months. Enjoy the sequel!

I am going to do it. I will need to completely unplug since I truly suck at it..truth be told I love all things bloggy..but even addicts need a break. Thanks for the encouragement Lark!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I love Cecy’s series and look forward to your thoughts on Here and Now.

    • kimbacaffeinate

Sounds like you have some reviews to write Amir. Hope this week is wonderful for you!

  9. Michelle

I’m going to have to say Kimba 16 books is FANTASTIC. My average a month at the moment is 6 so I am beyond jealous 🙂 I am hoping with your challenge and summer coming up I can make a huge dent in my reading. Down time is very hard for me too. I planned to do nothing this weekend but read and instead I cleaned out the closets of winter clothes. Not really a relaxing kind of day. lol
Enjoy all your new reads!!! Have a great week!

I totally suck at unpluging unless I go away but I am determined to take a mini break. Ooo I should clean my closets. *shivers* I won’t tell you how many I usually read in a month..LOL Have a great week Michelle!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I think Spring is making us all itchy for vacation!

  10. Holly

“Only 16” – ha! I know this is lower for you but it’s still an incredible number of books in one month! Good luck with your ARC challenge

    • kimbacaffeinate

Glad you liked the Here and Now. A month off..I cannot imagine. I did 14 days two summers ago since we went on a cruise and there was no internet.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I know Melissa and I encourage peeps in my tips & tricks to do it..that it is needed, now I need to take my own darn advice. You will all still be here and it will be good for me.

    • kimbacaffeinate

thanks Ellen, I am hoping for 3 days to just unplug and unwind.

  11. Kristin

Tee hee, everyone said what I wanted to say!! I am glad your mom is doing better! How are YOU doing, tho? This is the perfect month for reading and relaxing, tho! Maybe we’ll all get gardens in eventually, too (ha!)

BTW – I love the formatting of your book covers! Gimme, gimme 😀

I do want to get my veggie garden in. It is too soon here. Not till Mother’s day. Last year it snowed on May 8th. The format for book covers is a plugin for images that makes galleys. It is called.. WP Gallery Custom Links. Enjoy!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am excited to read it and thank you Grace. I appreciate it. Enjoy your weekend!

  12. Kat Morrisey

I was thinking the same thing -about needing some down time- yesterday, while I was prepping blog posts for today and this week. I would love to just get lost in a book and honestly, I think that will be one of my goals for May (in addition to the ARC challenge that is): just to enjoy the reading and relax. 🙂 I hope you find a way to work in some downtime as well and can escape into the pages of a good book. Have a great week and happy reading!

  13. Victoria (aka Zemfirka)

I’m with you Kim! Been so busy lately, I barely have time to visit blogs and have been procrastinating with my reviews *eh*. Hope this week is better for you and that your mom is doing well.

    • kimbacaffeinate

She is doing well, and I hear you Victoria. Have a wonderful week!

  14. Camille

I say 16 books in a month is a great number! ^_^ Go kick some ARCs! Also, omg! All Lined Up! Looking forward to your review of that. Have a great week!

  15. Kathy

Wow, 16 books! I’m lucky if I read 4!! I hope you get some downtime, even if you don’t get to read. For me I have work, family & the blog, so it’s hard to find time for everything. That’s why now I limit my time on Facebook and Twitter (that’s where I can get stuck for hours). You got a good haul – I added Silver Mirrors to my TBR, I’ve been looking for a new steampunk series and this sounds good. Hope you have a good week and that your Mom is feeling better!

  16. A Voracious Reader

I’m taking most of the summer off. O.O I’ll be around with reviews and things, but I’m not going to be doing any tours. I’m beat! My own fault though. Well, and authors who tour with great sounding books! 😀 And *only* 16 books* she says. lol I didn’t count how many I read, but I’m probably around that number, too. 🙂 Glad your mom is doing better! Have a great week, Kimba!

Ok I will never use the term “only” when referring to my books read again *facedesk* LOL Taking the summer off?!? *shivers* I need a break but the thought of 3 days makes me anxious..Oh wait, you aren’t really taking off you are lightening your load! Now that I could do. Hmm, maybe I will not post on Sat in the summer. Hmm, you have me thinking now Carol! I hope your week is amazing. Hey, how did the whole email thing work out?

      • A Voracious Reader

Ok, you’re right. I’m not technically taking the summer off. I’m cutting back. Way back. I’m sure I won’t have posts every day, but I won’t be disappearing. 🙂 I’m still not getting the update emails from you and many others. It must be a Yahoo thing. Time to think about switching.

  17. Adriana

You are always so consistent with your blog posts. You do really need some time for yourself. And now I know about the Clean Sweep ARC challenge. I think I might join that since I plan to read a bunch of ARCs anyways… Hope you have a great week (:
P.S. Love the new blog design!

We would love to have you join Clean Sweep. I have 3 books left to read for May posts and then hope to get all of my ARCs done for June. My goal is to free up my summer so I can enjoy the warmer weather. So glad you love the new design. I am still basking in the newness of it all. Hope your week is lovely Adriana!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I shall try 🙂 Have a good week Andrea!

  18. Valeria

Taking some time to read and yourself is a great idea. I’ve been thinking of doing the same. It’s hard to have quality posts when your reading has been affected, so sometimes you just need to take a break. I love that you will be reviewing FInding it. I recently got Losing it and am very excited about because I heard a lot of great things.
    Have a great week!

No worries on double comments I deleted them 🙂 It happens. I am glad to hear someone else struggles with taking time off. I am curious about Here and Now and hope to read it later this month.

I love her series Jessica 🙂 Have a wonderful week!

I think I’m stealing *I’m going to kick some ARC* phrase from me, because it’s genius! 🙂 Silver Mirrors looks yummy, but I still haven’t read book #1, so will have to catch up in the future, K. Enjoy all! 🙂

LOL, two summers ago we went on a cruise and I unplugged for 14 days..it was nerve wracking even though my friend monitored my blog for me *I gave her my log in deets* However it was so refreshing, plus I was delightful to see people came and commented while I was away. I truly suck at unplugging. I am determined to do it. I just think it will be good to recharge. I am shooting for three days.

    • kimbacaffeinate

thanks Jenea, I appreciate the support and I am excited about this weeks haul

    • kimbacaffeinate

Well I actually have to do it..LOL but I am seriously planning to unplug for at least 3 days – the plan to spend time with family, watch movies and read, read, read. I have to agree with you Julie. Truth is I love it, but we all need a break sometime.

  20. April

I’m going to be starting The Here and Now sometime soon – should’ve gotten to it sooner but haven’t been in the mood for it – I hope we both like it! I like your new format for the Sunday Post, looks good!

  21. Jan

I can see how all the comments you receive can take away from reading time. It’s great you answer your comments and are so active, but good to unplug sometimes, too. That’s what I did during our long whirlwind weekend the last three days. I didn’t bring my computer and there wasn’t any time to check my blog or anyone else’s!

I hope you have a great week, Kimba and fun reading some of your great looking books!
