For Trey DeLuca, the idea of settling down was entirely unsettling. As VP of sales for his family’s wine company, he’s never in any one city—or with any one woman—for long, which is how he likes it. But when family obligations keep him temporarily grounded in his hometown, he finds the perfect distraction. She’s sweet, gorgeous, and sexy as hell…only her life screams commitment.Between raising her son and struggling to keep her dance school afloat, Sara Reed has her hands full. Dance students she needs—a steamy tangled sheets cha-cha with a self-admitted commitment-phobe? Not going to happen. But sparks fly as the town prepares for a big Valentine’s Day gala, and Trey strikes a deal with Sara…he’ll “manny-up” and watch her son in exchange for ballroom lessons. With love quickstepping ever closer, Sara needs to teach this playboy some new steps or risk losing him—and her heart—forever.

Marina Adair’s, St. Helena Vineyards series is quickly becoming one of my favorite, go to, feel good series and Be Mine Forever is perhaps one of my favorites. Set in wine country I have enjoyed watching each of the DeLuca siblings fall, and Trey DeLuca was no exception. Mini review: heart-warming and hot with a little boy who stole my heart.

Trey DeLuca is the families Vice President of Sales, a task that has him racking up the frequent flyer miles. It is a  life style he prefers, but all that is about to change when a sweet and sexy ballerina named Sara, complicates his life. It’s almost Valentine’s Day in St. Helen, and the annual Gala is being planned which added humor and charm to this small-town tale. Family obligations find Trey surrounded by his brother’s wives and looking after their kids. Trey soon finds himself out of his element and falling for a woman who screams commitment. My heart flipped as I watched this polished, sexy man unwind and find land.

Adair has created such a unique town with characters you cannot help, but fall in love with. Sara and Trey immediately stole my heart. Between their back stories and the tango, they danced I practically melted. There is certainly some heat, but it was the dance that made my toes curl. From the delicious, sometimes snarky banter to the blushes and unexpected feelings I was completely swept up in wanting my HEA.  Sara’s son Copper just stole my heart from his struggles to his wide eyed grins of awe. Once again the author brings to life both wine country and the small town of St. Helena. ChiChi’s shenanigans and heart-warming stories made me smile and giggle. We get more face time with couples from the previous books and the interactions with Trey’s sister-in-law and niece were hilarious.

Be Mine Forever was a sweet romance with a couple who had perfect chemistry. Trey and Sara are a couple you cannot help but champion. Adair made me feel for them and I became completely swept up as the romance unfolded. She avoided unnecessary angst while peeling back Trey’s layers. He is complicated, noble, incredibly sweet and just so damn sexy. *swoon* One of my favorite aspects of this series is its small town dynamics. I love their traditions, competitions and the wine making business that impacts most of the town. I found myself equally caught up in their stories and those of the other DeLuca siblings. Once again Adair had me closing the book with a smile and eager to visit again.

Fans of small-town romance, low-angst and just enough heat to make you swoon will love Be Mine Forever. While each of these novels will work as a standalone, the St. Helena Vineyard series is one you will want to enjoy from the beginning. From the Moment We Met, is the next book in the series and is set to release in May 2014.

I haven’t read anything by this author before but you know how I love small town romances. I will definitely check out this series. I wonder if I can squeeze one more book into my March read-a-thon list? 🙂

Great review. I love that Trey falls for a hometown girl, and Sara sounds like quite a character. It sounds like a great story, and one I would love to read.

  3. Bea

“avoided unnecessary angst” – I’m delighted to hear it; it’s frustrating when authors throw angst in when there’s no need.

I noticed you did lots of small town romances, I thought maybe it was on purpose. 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

I like to mix it up, sometimes angst is good, but I love mixing small-town romances in especial between heavier genres. Like this one I read between a horror novel and a suspense thriller.

    • kimbacaffeinate

This is a wonderful small town series and I love that each one features a brother and his romance.

I loved your review, Kim. I am not a huge romance fan, but your descriptions of the characters and their interactions had me smiling. I like snarky characters and this sounds like one of those books where the characters catch me more than the story.

This is probably the sweetest thing my college boyfriend ever did. He made a scavenger hunt around our campus for me. I found clues written in iambic pentameter and chocolate around the university. It was really adorable.

I am actually looking for a contemporary romance to read that isn’t super angsty, and I think this one would be a good choice. Trey sounds like a really swoon-worthy guy!

I think I need to try Marina, I think I would like her since it sounds a bit like Bella Andre or Susan Mallery. Good writing, good story, great characters!

    Happy Valentines Day!

    • kimbacaffeinate

I do think you will like her she has a little less heat then Andre but yes her books are similar to both authors.

Me too Ali, I always now I am going to get the perfect romance 🙂

  20. Jenny

Yet another series I need to read Kim! I haven’t read anything by this author, and one of my goals this year is to read more new-to-me authors, so I think this might be a good place to start. I’m a big fan of small town romances, and the mention of low angst just seals the deal. A winning combination for me!

    • kimbacaffeinate

These are just feel good, swoon worthy, curl up by the fire and escape reads that I adore 🙂

  21. Mary

Ooh, another one to add to the list! I’ve heard of this author but never read anything by her. Love the small town setting and this couple sounds like a pair I really need to get to know!!

  22. Lupdilup

You right, Marina Adair writing is comforting and sweet. I’ve only listened to the first in the series (BTW, the infamous Kissing Under the Mistle Toe..LOL), it looks like I really need to continue 🙂

    Thanks Kimba!

  23. Melliane

wow another wonderful series. you keep making me discover new books. But I’ll definitely try to see about the first book. A new really nice contempory romance. I have some but I confess it’s not that much.
