Take Control 2014

It’s back!! Take Control of Your TBR Pile was a blast last year and many of you made space on your shelves for new books. Let’s do it again!

While I do an excellent job of keeping up on new releases and ARC reviews, my own personal bookshelf has suffered, so I decided that for the entire month of March I would focus on cleaning up my TBR pile, catching up on some series and finally cracking the spines on some of those books I cannot wait to read. So I am clearing my schedule, setting aside the ARC’s and drowning myself in my own pile of lovely books. (new releases on my gotta have it now or die list-excluded..I will still read those, even though they will not count..LOL)

So I am inviting you to join me! Glance over your shoulder at your own TBR pile…*yep it’s that big!* Ya know you want at them and to encourage you for every book you read you’ll get one entry into a Rafflecopter drawling to win a new 2014 release of your choice!

I’m really tempted to take part in this, but not sure I want to set myself up for failure, haha!

I think I will consider it in February when I have a better idea of how many books I’ve gathered in the first month or so of 2014!

You cannot fail if you read at least one book..LOL join in, we always have fun πŸ™‚

I decided several months ago that February will be my month to catch up on books I’ve won or been gifted, but that still leaves a huge TBR pile. πŸ˜€ So, March will be a mix of my personal TBR and my review TBR pile. By the end of March, my TBR pile should be in much better shape. πŸ˜€

Count me in! I have an overflowing TBR bookcase and a slew of TBRs on my ereader as well. I need this challenge to give me an excuse to put aside (most of) the ARCs and get to all those books I’ve been wanting to read!

I’m linking up now, but will post my goals at the end of February. Thank you for hosting this!

I read the most from my tbr pile in March last year..the rest of the year..FAIL

Glad you joined and yep as long as the book published before 3-2014 it can count πŸ™‚

  4. Krys

This is such a tempting challenge to participate in, unfortunately I’m already signed up for a year long TBR challenge.
Good luck to everybody who’s participating πŸ™‚

Unless the other challenge won’t allow it, you can do both. Mine has no rules about double dipping on challenges. I also have a read-a-thon that month too for TBR pile books.

      • Krys

I don’t think there are any restrictions, but this is my first year of trying out some challenges so I don’t want to overwhelm myself, ya know?
        Maybe next year πŸ™‚

I didn’t realize someone else was doing a March challenge, but I don’t care if you double-dip. I do this every March. πŸ™‚

Cannot WAIT! I’ll be pretty much done with my dissertation by March too, so I’ll feel like I’ve earned some quality reading time…

Damn.. that TBR list is big. Too big.. March might not be enough! Lololol.

  6. Danie

Tweeted at you, but if you need hosts, just give me details! I might be interested.

Definitely signing up for this one. Do ARCs that come out January & February of 2014 count? I have a BUNCH of those that need to be read.

As long as the publish date of the book is before March 1st they count. I would love if you hosted a challenge. You just need to create challenge and offer a book related prize. I will DM you my email address:)

  7. Katie

I’m really excited to participate in this! This is just what I need right now to spur me on with my TBR pile. However, I can’t find the rafflecopter for this challenge…can you advise me where to look? πŸ™‚

Well I am really late in joining this challenge but I finally did! I’ve been reading HP and the Goblet of Fire all month so at least if I get it done in the next 10 days, I can cross one big book off my TBR list! πŸ™‚ Thanks for hosting!
