How the Heck Did You Do That?!?
Welcome to Caffeinated Confessions!
I wanted a forum where we could talk about bookish subjects from swoon-worthy covers to the price of eBooks. I hope to share my thoughts on a different subject each month. So that we can all chat and share opinions. In the process, I hope we get to know each other a little better. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and lets dish!

This post was totally fun to create, and I hope you get a laugh out of it.

~*~*Top Ten Signs You Are A Book Blogger*~*~

10. You know what your favorite author had for breakfast.

9. You chat with people from all over the world.

8. You know what the terms, ARC, POV, HTML, CSS and UBB stand for.

7. You visit  Edelweiss, NetGalley, and Amazon. Even though you promised yourself yesterday you wouldn’t.

6. You are a member of more social sites then your teenage daughter. Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook page, Google+, Library Thingy, Tumblr, Goodreads, BB etc, etc, etc.

5. You belong to a street team or are proud to be an author’s minion.

4. If your eReader died, it would be the end of the world!

3. Tuesday Release Days are a bigger deal than Christmas at your house. They cause more sick days per year than any other day.

2. Your backspace button on your keyboard is broke, and the letters e,s,i,o and a are no longer visible. Your keyboard is only a year old.

1. You secretly get nervous that you may appear on the show Hoarders because of your book collection. There may or may not be books hidden in your home. *eyes bed-skirt nervously*

Can you relate? What are some other signs?

Lol awesome list Kimba! My keyboard is not broken, and I never go to Edelweiss and Netgalley, nor do I know all those letters you listed, but I am a bookblogger and proud of it.
The Hoarder, yep, that is me. But my books are not hidden, they are all in their bookcases. Or boxes in the attic…

  2. Dragana

Double yes to #7 – I keep telling myself I will stop but I can’t stay away. o.O

#4 – If my ereader dies I will steal my husband’s. Books over marriage. 😀

#2 – *stares at keyboard* All of the buttons are functional and letters visible and my keyboard is 5 years old. I feel like I failed as book blogger. 😀
But then I got this keyboard as gift from my husband it’s some ridiculously expensive ergonomic model and I wanted to kill him for spending so much money on something that can be bought 10x cheaper. Well now he would dance i-told-you-so dance (but I will never tell him he was right lol)

#1 – Luckily hoarders still focus on physical things but if they ever start filming about people who have so many ebooks their ereader is glitching, I would be the first on their list. 😀

Great list, made me giggle. 🙂

  3. Krys

Oh Gawd! I thought I was the only one who’s letter were starting to disappear after a year. HA! My ‘e’ has practically faded and the other letters. Overall, great list 🙂
    – Krys

  4. Mary

LOL!! LOVE THIS!! And, dear god. I nodded and giggled with each and every one of these. We’ve definitely crossed into the blogger zone. And, despite the fact that I don’t have a Vine, I still have more social media stuff than the majority of my students. *snort*

  5. John

One of my mates actually dances like that. Okay, make that two. But they do like Jean-Claude Van Damme’s er….dance routine in Kickboxer. I have waaaay too many books but having quite got to ‘hoarder’ status. I avoided that by lending books to my mum. Awesome, awesome post.

  6. Chene Sterckx

I loved this post! It had me smiling and nodding all the way through 🙂 I was just on NetGalley requesting 2 books, contemplating a 3rd after I just put a ban on any more requests for myself last week!

  7. sharonda

LMBO! awesome post Kim. Loved the dancing dude & omg, how point are you about NetGalley & Edelweiss…lols.

  8. Danie

HA! I love this post so much. Especially numbers 1, 6, and 7. Well done!

  9. Jen

I LOVE THIS POST! I just kept saying yup, yup, yup… :). Yeah, and my S key is no longer visible. LOL. Thanks for the great post!

  10. Lily B

couldn’t stop giggling. I cycle through edelweiss, netgalley and amazon every day heh.. I know I shouldn’t…but you know..

I don’t have books under my bed, but I might have some in my closet in boxes eap. Plus a bunch of my nightstand that are stacked on top of each other and sometimes fly off when my husband walks into the room and slams the door.

  11. Kristen

This is so true and funny! Love all the gifs and I totally relate to a lot of these (ok most of them). The only thing I could think to add is a fear of being suffocated by or having books fall on you 🙂

  12. Laurel-Rain Snow

Ha-ha! Love this…and I can totally relate. In fear of being on the Hoarders show, I did clear out some bookshelves and haul books to the Library Collections bins.

When your blogging world is more real than the world outside your door, it could be time for a 12-Step program…right? But until then, I’m happily in denial.

  13. Angie

Love this!! But instead of visiting Amazon daily I visit my library’s website daily to see what is new there for me to put on hold!

  14. Allison

I have a cover for my keyboard on my Mac and was showing this post to my husband (you know, to educate him about my life a bit more) and he started looking at my letters and pointed out that all of the ones listed are pretty much worn out. So are N and L.

  15. Greg

Awesome list Kimba! I laughed especially at #’s 3 and 8. So true. And yes since I started blogging Tuesdays have taken on added importance!

  16. Crystal

You follow other bloggers to support them and comment as often as you can. Just to help another get posts noticed.

    • Lark

Number 6 made me laugh because it is so true! Though my daughter is on Tumblr now, and I’m not. But I’m on FB, Pinterest, Twitter, Goodreads… Numbers 7, 4, 3, and 1 also struck a chord.

Other signs: You know when your favorite authors’ next book is due out, even if it’s 8 months from now. You read NPR Books, Publishers Weekly, GalleyCat, and/or The New York Times book reviews — every week. And the biggest sign: you can’t read a book anymore without mentally composing a review, even if you don’t actually plan to write one.

  17. Michelle

OMG I LOVE THIS!!! I just had the conversation with myself today about getting the hell off Netgalley you have to many to read from there already! So I got off and went to Edelweiss instead LOL

    Awesome post 🙂

  18. Ginny

haha…I guess that means I am officially a book blogger since all of these fit. Fun post. Great job!

  19. Christy

Ha – yes, the e on my last keyboard wore completely through. Lets see how long this new on lasts. And I could watch Dean dance all day.

  20. Lauren

This post is hilarious and SOOOOO accurate. Especially #7! And #3. Oooh and #1. Yes, I’m afraid if a reality TV producer saw my shelves they would bring their cameras and put me on hoarders for sure. Fabulously funny post! 🙂

  21. ShootingStarsMag

this is hilarious!! I do have quite a lot of books. They tend to leave my room and find their way throughout the house in various piles too.

    -Lauren

  22. Dani

“4. If your eReader died, it would be the end of the world!”

Not for me! I have several backups… 🙂
    Great post!!

  23. Candace

Ha, this is great! I still have space under my bed but I’m sure I won’t forever. I do a decent job at thinning the books once in awhile. Before we moved to a house I had books in the back of my kitchen cupboards. People still tease me about that. My keyboard is surprisingly in good shape still but other then that I’m so with you!

  24. Chandra

Hilariously true! I am in the process of trying to figure out how to rearrange my massive book collection in my office to fit more books. My husband even jokes that someday he will have to build me an addition on to the house to hold my library. Great post, I laugh so hard reading all of these.

  25. Andrea

That is too funny! My favorite is the e-reader dying. I can totally relate to that. Thanks for sharing the fun!

  26. kindlemom1

This serisouly made me LOL! and I had to look at my keyboard to see if my letters were faded or almost nonexistent and…they are! 😛

And oh my, so nice to watch Dean do a little dance this early in them morning. 😉

  27. Tammy

Love this list! I completely agree with the e-reader thing. I would have to run out immediately and buy a new one. And checking NG and Edelweiss every day…totally!

  28. Tawnya Bentley

I’m not a blogger, but as a reader I can relate to almost all of them. Especially the Book Hoarder one, although I have OCD you can be guaranteed everyone of my books have a specific spot it is suppose to be in. The TBR Piles are even so organized my son claims there isn’t any help for me.

  29. Berls

This post was so fun for me to read because less than 6 months ago I wasn’t a book blogger and pretty much none of this was true for me, but now… it’s feeling very familiar. My keyboard is doing okay though 🙂 I think I would add – you drive your family and friends crazy talking about your blog. I’ve gotten better at not doing this, but my blog is so important to me and takes up such a huge piece of my life, I have a hard time not talking about it constantly!

  30. Julie

This list is awesome! Most of those are pretty much spot on for me, but my keyboard is fine lol. I would add book series hangovers, and not being able to figure out what book to read next because there are too many on your TBR!

  31. Anya

Oo that reminds me that I need to check NG and EW 😀 Hehe, the first sites I check in the morning are email, GR, and my feed reader, though I don’t think that saves me from being labeled a bit obsessed with blogging >.>

  32. Shy

Love this Kim. They are all so true. I would have to add that I have such a fear of my ereader dieing I bought me a spare Nook HD when B &N had it on sale for Black Friday on their website. Yes the blogging addiction is that real.

  33. Diana Leigh

They’re all true. Every one. My “under the bed” boxes are filled with books. Even in my kids’ rooms, lol. 😉

  34. Lola

I love this post, even though not all of those signs apply to me.The chatting with people all over the world certainly is true and the being part of street team and stalking authors too! Those keys on my keyboard still alive, actually the space bar and the e and a are worst on my keyboard. If my e-reader died it would be terrible indeed! And the first sites I visit in the morning are usually my e-mail, my blog, twitter, facebook and goodreads. I try to stay away from netgalley as much as possible, else I end up requesting more and more books.

  35. Jenea

Haha! I was cracking up laughing while reading these, and my daughter ask what was so funny so I read a few of them to her. She told me that she knows I am a book blogger because I am a book sniffer and sniff all my books even if I have already smelled them before. Lol Love this kid! These are all sooo true. I am definitely on more social networks than my 19 year old and my backspace has been broken for quite a while now. Love the Dean gif, I could watch it all day. 🙂

  36. Tanja

LOL This is so true! I’m proud little minion. Also I’m not a huge fan of social networks but boy I do have profile everywhere. Great post Kim 🙂

  37. Trish

LOL, I can relate to every single one of them! Especially the Amazon, NG, EW one; I constantly tell myself ok, no more books for a few weeks and all will be fine. But then I’m afraid that I’ll miss out on a great book so I sneak on and manage to convince myself I’ll fit it in! Put it like this, if there was a sudden book shortage, I’d be fine and have enough to cover all my friends and family too :O

  38. Jeann

Hahahha omg great post! I absolutely loved 1, and loved that it was the 1st point too! Something I worry about frequently. And yes, I am obsessed with Netgalley, Amazon, etc….Us book bloggers are passionate I tell ya!

  39. Jennifer Bielman

EEE, this is awesome. I would die if my ereader died. It would be a murder-suicide. (J/K) These all apply to me. I am so Ilona Andrews Minions. I pimp out her stuff all the time.

  40. Heather

I saw this on twitter and had to see what it was about. OMG I’m a book blogger! Just kidding, I knew before this. I can say all are true, I laughed at the one that says “You are a member of more social sites than your teenage daughter” Son for me but that is so true! And I’m on several street teams/air squadrons!

I also have to agree about the book boyfriends. Love your post!

    Heather

  41. Christine

“Even though you promised yourself yesterday you wouldn’t.” OMG, yes! I am so guilty of that, though my sites of choice are Amazon, Half.com, & the GoodReads giveaway page 🙂

And as for #1, I’d like to think of my collection as a “library” rather than a “hoard,” but really who am I kidding?

  42. Michelle

Yes!! It’s funny you mention the keyboard thing because I noticed my vowel keys are super shiny and smooth compared to the normal matte and bumpy finish on the rest.
I also fear ending up on Hoarders…because I actually do have books under the bed (and in the basement) in boxes. I’m out bookshelf room so I find myself making little stacks of books everywhere.

  43. Grace Fonseca

All of these are so true for me except for the books under my bed. My addiction is not that extreme. Yes I do visit Net Galley and Edelweiss quite often.

    Grace

  44. Bea

HAH! So true. 😀 Although number 7 is actually not true for me; I visit Amazon regularly but it’s lower on the list and I visit NetGalley and Edelweiss weekly or less often.

  45. Cameron

I love this! I would add, you have book boyfriends who you cycle through on a yearly basis when the next book in a series comes out. Or something to that extent. 🙂
