I liked Haunted and Thornhill by Tamara Thorne! Gave those away last year. They were pretty creepy!

  2. kindlemom1

I really loved the hallowed Ones and the Outside as well, so darn good!

My all time most spooky read will always be IT by King, well really anything by King. He is the master of horror and the strange for sure.

not really a fan of spooky, but from seeing some of the movies/tv shows based on Stephen King books, i guess anything written by him would be spooky to me!!!

  4. Anne Consolacion

Stephen King wins the spookiest book I’ve read. Almost all his books are scary. The Stand, It, Cujo, Desperation, and lots more! I’m not sure which is the scariest. πŸ™‚

  5. Denise Z

One spooky book I really enjoyed was Lightening by Dean Koontz, I also really like the Odd Thomas books by Dean Koontz πŸ™‚

  6. Hillary R.

I remember reading Asylum, but it wasn’t as spooky as everyone made it out to be. The only spooky part about that story were those old photographs. And I also read Needful Things by Stephen King years ago, but it was sort of creepy. The way everyone turned against each other with bloodshed made me cringe. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! πŸ™‚

  7. Melissa C

My favorite scary book is The Cell by Stephen King. It still creeps me out if I think about it.

    Thank you for the giveaway.

I don’t read anything that is to β€œspooky” because I will have nightmares from reading books or watching movies. So I don’t really have a favorite β€œspooky” book.

  9. Bobbye

I read paranormal all the time….mostly witches and vampires…..I don’t really read horror LOL

  10. Megan

I’m really looking forward to reading Anna Dressed in Blood soon so hopefully that will become my favourite!

I love The Taking by Dean Koontz! Its creepy and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Thank you for this amazing giveaway!

  13. Lark of the Bookwyrm's Hoard

I am really not a fan of scary books, at least not if I’m not sure it will turn out all right. But I love suspenseful books. Mary Stewart was great at what I call ‘modern gothics’ (now it would be classified as romantic suspense): Nine Coaches Waiting, This Rough Magic, Airs Above the Ground, Wildfire at Midnight, The Moonspinners… almost all her books have extremely suspenseful, thrilling scenes in them. And Jayne Ann Krentz knows how to ratchet up the tension, too.

I’ve never read any major spooky books, just some mysteries. I would like to read one.

One of my favorite spooky books is The Strain by Guillermo del Toro & Chuck Hogan.
    Thanks for the giveaway! πŸ™‚

I just read Anna Dressed in Blood. I’m actually looking for a truly spooky book to read this month.

  17. Tiffany Falick

“IT” by Stephen King is one of my favorite spookies πŸ˜€ thanks for the fantastic giveaway!

  18. Anastasia

One spooky book that I love is “It” by Stephen King. I read it when I as young and it was super creepy! πŸ™‚

  19. Irene Jackson

Just about any book by James Herbert although I found his earlier books to be a lot scarier.

  20. dianadimovska1

The Shining by Stephen King and everything from H.P. Lovecraft. Thanks! πŸ™‚

  21. Orchid

I enjoyed reading The Haunting of Hill House. I know there’s a few other “scary” books I’ve enjoyed over the years, but gosh if I cannot remember a single one at the moment.

    thanks!!

  23. Maricris sison

Not really reading “spooky” books but i really am a fan of goosebumps. πŸ˜‰

  24. Michelle Bledsoe

I really think that Kay Hooper’s Bishop series is intellectually spooky. I love those books

  25. Kayla C

I don’t typically read books that are strictly “spooky”, but I’ve read some great paranormal/fantasies that incorporate some creepy characters. Two of my all time favorites is Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier and the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray.

  26. Jess

Hmmm… I love so many spooky books. I would have to say The Graveyard Book or Coraline because they have been on my mind a lot lately, but I am a huge King fan any love falling into a spook read. πŸ™‚

Thanks so much for the fabulous giveaway!

The Shining by Stephen King πŸ™‚ partly because it was one of the first horror books I ever read.

  29. Kristia

I like The Graveyard Queen series by Amanda Stevens. Thank you for the giveaway πŸ™‚

  30. Lori Ha

I’m a baby because I don’t really like scary movies or books. About the spookiest books I’ve read are Karen Moning’s Dark Fever series.

  31. MonaG

I prefer suspense/thrillers over “spooky.” The most recent ones I enjoyed :
    . Creep by Jennifer Hillier
. The Sixes by Kate White

Books about sociopaths also give me the creeps. I really enjoyed Matters of the a Heart by Danielle Steel.

    Thanks πŸ™‚

  32. Anita H.

I’m not really into “spooky” books per se but I love reading paranormal books like Pamela Palmer’s Feral warrior series

  33. Ada

I don’t have a favorite, not a really big fan of spooky although I’ve read some Stephen King stuff. More into the paranormal stuff too. Jacqueline Frank’s stuff is probably the most hardcore “spooky” as I’d like to get lol

  34. Elizabeth

One of my longtime favorites is The Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters (an older novel, from the 1970s I think). It involves a mummy haunting and spooky times on an archaeological dig in Victorian-era Egypt.

  35. Toni Porter

I’m normally more into paranormal/supernatural books, not necessarily “spooky” ones. But The Diviners easily makes it into the top three favorite scary books I’ve read.

  36. Sophia Rose

Anne Rice’s books spooked me out b/c I’m a feather-weight when it comes to spooky books. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  37. Kristin

I think my favorite is still the Enthralled anthology b/c it had a bit of EVERYTHING and I don’t normally read scarey stuff πŸ˜€ Shadowlands was pretty fantastic, too, but I wouldn’t exactly call it “scary”. OOO, just thought of one!! A long time ago I read The Descent by John Long – absolutely blew my mind!

hugs b/c I don’t get around to visit enough!!

i like Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. not so scary but just kinda creepy

  39. Kimberly

One of my favourite spooky reads was The Shadowkiller by Matthew Scott Hansen. It’s about Bigfoot but it was really creepy. I loved it! Highly recommend it πŸ™‚

  40. Berls

So I’m just starting to open myself up to reading Spooky reads – I get scared pretty easily – I love fantasy reads (as you know) but have tended to steer clear of the REALLY scary ones. I think I’d like to read The Hollowed Ones that you mentioned, it’s actually on my TBR, just waiting for me to get the guts to pick it up LOL

I love spooky reads but only when it’s light outside lol I used to listen to creepy audiobooks but got too scared in traffic lol

  42. Michelle B

Phantoms by Dean Koontz. I originally read this when I was 11 years old and would read late at night in my bed and it scared the heck out of me!

  43. Wayne Lecoy

    I entered your Spooktacular Giveaway.
In response to your question of
What is one of your favorite “spooky” books?
My favorite spooky book is Carrie by Stephen King.
Thank you for having this giveaway!!!!!!!

  44. Kamla L.

Although I love scary movies, I don’t really read scary books. Salem’s Lot scared the living ^&^*&(& out of me as a teenager. So, now I stick to UFs and PNRs which I seem to be obsessed with. I did enjoy Emily McKay’s The Farm and Andrew Fukuda’s The Hunt series but I didn’t think they were scary.
