Waiting on Wednesday #52- It’s all about Simon & Schuster!
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine. It’s a chance to showcase upcoming releases we are interested in or drooling over. This week I am “Waiting On” on books from Simon & Schuster. The Descent, the exciting conclusion to the Taker trilogy by Alma Katsu and a delicious sounding romance from best-selling author Jennifer Probst. Searching for Somebody is the first book in her new Love Spells series. Check them out and let me know if you are adding them to your wish list.
by Alma Katsu
Series: The Taker Trilogy #3
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Publication date: January 7, 2014
The final installment in the “mesmerizing” (Booklist, starred review) and addictive trilogy—find out who truly holds the key to Lanny’s heart and whether she’ll ever be reunited with her beloved in this gripping supernatural tale of magic, lust, and longing. Lanore McIlvrae has been on the run from Adair for hundreds of years, dismayed by his mysterious powers and afraid of his temper. She betrayed Adair’s trust and imprisoned him behind a stone wall to save Jonathan, the love of her life. When Adair was freed 200 years later, she was sure that he would find her and make her existence a living hell. But things turned out far different than she’d imagined. Four years later, Lanore has tracked Adair to his mystical island home, where he has been living in self-imposed exile, to ask for a favor. She wants Adair to send her to the hereafter so she may beg the Queen of the Underworld to release Jonathan, whom she has been keeping as her consort. Will Lanore honor her promise to Adair to return? Or is her intention to reunite with Jonathan at any cost? Of all the forces of the universe, the most mysterious, confounding, and humbling is the power of love. The epic story of love and loss, magic and destiny that began with The Taker and sparked a chase around the world in The Reckoning comes to a surprising conclusion with The Descent.
I have been waiting for Descent, the conclusion of the Taker Trilogy since June of 2012. I cannot wait to learn more about these dark, strange, enchanting characters. Katsu is a powerful story-teller, who keeps you on edge, makes you squirm in your seat, all while she carefully hold you in her well crafted web. Eep! Are you reading this series? Searching for Someday
by Jennifer Probst
Series: Love Spells #1
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Publication date: November 26, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Kate has given up on love—at least for herself. She is both blessed and cursed with the ability to sense a romantic connection between two people—a gift that her family passed down for generations. When Kate launches her own matchmaking company, Kinnection, with her two best friends in a cozy New York town, she has to put aside her own romantic disasters to make her business a success. But when a furious man stalks into her office and accuses her business of being a scam, Kate is given the ultimate challenge to prove herself. Slade puts himself in her hands and asks Kate to find him love. Enraged at his arrogance but stubbornly eager to prove herself, Kate agrees, dedicating herself to the journey of finding him love…only to find herself falling for him along the way.
I enjoyed Jennifer Probst’s fast paced romances with fleshed out characters and oh-la-la romances. I love the synopsis for Searching for Someday. I am anxious to see how Kate and Slade’s story unfolds. Have you read any of Jennifer’s books?
