CUPID’S CHRISTMAS…A love story for both the young and the young at heart. In a spot somewhere between Heaven and Earth, Cupid is trying to overcome the forces of lust, jealousy and the events brought on by his nemeses—Life Management.
Cupid matched John and Eleanor thirty years ago, but Life Management stepped in and fouled things up. Now they are both single and back together again, but before Cupid can give them the happiness they deserve, he’s got to come up with some magic, a few miracles and a dog for John’s daughter.

I love Bette Lee Crosby’s books so when she approached me to review Cupid’s Christmas it was a no-brainer. Cupid’s Christmas delivers a holiday tale that you will want to share with others. It reads like a made for television Hallmark Christmas special and I quickly consumed this on a cold afternoon. This is heartwarming tales that will lift your spirits and embraces the spirit of the holidays.

We meet Cupid who dwells somewhere between Heaven and Earth and whose purpose is to match people with their true loves. This isn’t an easy task, what with human free will and the department of “Life Management” whose sole purpose it seems is to throw a wrench into people’s lives. We meet Lindsay Gray, a difficult case who mixes up love with lust. Add in a second chance romance, a cute dog, a sexy veterinarian and you have the ingredients for a heartwarming tale.

Lindsey Gray is in search of love and happiness and nothing is going her way. Despite Cupid’s interventions she keeps messing things up. When a series of events force her to move back to her New Jersey home she just might get her happily-ever-after. Her dad John, his girlfriend Eleanor and her son all have different storylines and I found myself completely caught up in their stories.Cupid was absolutely hilarious and I loved her snarky comments and insight about humans.

Crosby has this incredible gift for bringing you memorable characters and weaving tales that touch you. I love that she is able to capture my attention in the first few pages. Since New Jersey and the areas mentioned were my old stomping grounds I felt right at home. I loved that she mention my favorite sports teams and venues. The dog in the book will capture your heart and I love that part of the proceeds go to helping animal shelters. The pacing is delightful and the characters complex. I found myself giggling aloud, especially during Cupid’s POV. The tale is shared through multiple POV’s adding depth and a personal touch. I found myself highlighting quotes and had tears in my eyes at the end.

If you are in search of a heartwarming tale to get you in the holiday mood, Cupid’s Christmas is a perfect read. I cannot wait to see what this author brings us next.

Awww, congrats on being quoted for Spare Change!!! This does sound so cute! As soon as you said Hallmark Christmas special, I completely pictured the movie and the snarky Cupid.

I read the book and thought it was great also. I loved it. The dogs passing seemed to add a little something more to the book. Bette Lee Crosby’s writing is something special and people will definitely want to add her to their TBR list. Thanks Kimba for the great review.

I just love that it’s December and that we get to read all these Christmas-related books. I swear, Kimba, my mood has already improved by 17%. I’m going to be positively perky by Christmas Eve. This is another one I need to add to my ‘December reads’ list.
Thank you for the lovely review!

I’m so glad to have read your review of this one Kimba because, as cute as that dog is on the cover, I likely would have glossed right over this book. The fact that the proceeds go to help animal shelters is a huge incentive to buy this one, as I’m an animal lover through and through. Thanks for bringing Cupid’s Christmas to my attention!

This sounds so cute, but I don’t know what my problem is with holiday themed books. I usually completely pass them up, even though I know I’d probably like them.

  10. Bella's Shelf

I like it cuz of the donation to animal shelters. This sounds uber cute and I need a good holiday read to get the bahhumbugs out of me..lol..I picked up 3 books that are Xmas themed, The Christmas Catch and Mistletoe in Maine by Ginny Baird. Theres another I forgot the name. Im gonna do a few Xmas-ey reviews to keep with the holiday spirit 🙂 I love your rater being cups of cocoa 🙂 If I dont like a book I will give it a lump of coal! lolz!

Oh not me..i am a sucker for them..i just read a novella called Christmas Kisses, it’s New Adult and while I will not be reviewing here because of scheduling issues..OMG it was hot!

  14. Christy (Love of Books)

Okay, I found Christmas Kisses and downloaded it since it’s so short. 🙂 I just hate that my son and I are on the same Amazon account, so when I bought it, it will also be right on top of his kindle when he turns it on. Hopefully he’s not around his friends when he does. lol

  15. kimbacaffeinate

hahaha…um yeah and it’s naught. B&N has parental controls and multiple account so you can keep a naughty mommy folder..bwahaha. My recommendation read it and archive it lickty-split 🙂

Now see for me, the cover is ADORABLE but in my mind does not match with the book synopsis! It looks more kitsy somehow, but the story does sound heart warming as you mentioned. Great find, thanks for sharing!

  18. Michelle

This book looks adorable. It seems like the perfect holiday read! I hope that I will be able to pick it up after my finals. I am doing a major TBR pile intervention this holiday season just to PREPARE for your TBR pile challenge in March. That is how bad mine has gotten. ::Sigh::

Thanks for the great review and I hope everything is going great for you!
